Apple Reports Results for Q3 2012: $8.8 Billion Profit on $35 Billion in Revenue
Yesterday Apple announced financial results for the second calendar quarter and third fiscal quarter of 2012. Apple posted revenue of $35.0 billion and net quarterly profit of $8.8 billion. The numbers are dramatically weaker than what analysts were expecting. The company did beat its own guidance, however. Last quarter, Apple said it would make $34 billion in revenue.

Reuters Confirms a Smaller Dock Connector and Relocated Headphone Jack on Next iPhone 5
Reuters confirms rumors suggesting that Apple will replace the traditional 30-pin dock connector with a smaller 19-pin version in its next generation iPhone.
The iPhone 5, Apple's next generation iPhone expected to go on sale around October, will come with a 19-pin connector port at the bottom instead of the proprietary 30-pin port "to make room for the earphone moving to the bottom", two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.

Apple's Early Prototype iPad Had a 12-Inch Display
Yesterday we published some interesting photos of the early iPad prototype created in the 2002-2004 timeframe. The photos revealed the similar design to the device released in 2010, but the early prototype was 1-inch thicker than the original iPad. European Carriers Stockpiling Nano-SIMs Ahead iPhone 5 launch
Financial Times reports that European carriers have begun stockpiling the new nano-SIMs ahead the launch of the next-generation iPhone that will use the new standard.
Operators expect that the iPhone will feature the nano sim in a slimmed down design, according to two sources with knowledge of the situation, and have begun to store millions of the cards in warehouses in anticipation of high demand for Apple’s iPhone. Apple declined to comment.

Chinese resellers already taking $1100 pre-orders for iPhone 5
The next-generation iPhone 5 is not released yet, but the demand is already high. The handset is expected to be one of the line’s biggest updates since it was introduced, 5 years ago.
According to a new report some Chinese resellers are taking advantage of the hype, by taking pre-orders for the phone.

Purported physical model of iPad mini surfaced
Gotta Be Mobile has posted the photos of a physical model of the "iPad mini". The model sheds light on the basic shape of the rumored device, but it is only a case maker's mold, so we couldn’t claim that it reflects the device's form factor. According to the report, a pixel count on the photos suggests that the iPad mini will measure approximately 213 mm by 143 mm and be slightly thinner than the full-size iPad. The mockup also includes a smaller dock connector and two speaker grilles along the bottom edge of the device.
iPad Mini 7.85-Inch Screen compared to other tablets
