Foxconn may buy more Sharp shares, fueling Apple television rumors
Foxconn Chairman Terry Gou revealed at his company's annual meeting on Monday that the company is now in talks with Sharp to buy more their shares. Foxconn is Apple's primary manufacturing partner, responsible for assembling devices like the iPhone, iPad and Macs. And Sharp is already a major display supplier for Apple, including Retina displays for the new iPad. That is why it’s not surprisingly that these rumors once again revive speculation that their alliance could play a key role in Apple's rumored television set.
Apple Filed Application For ‘.apple’ Domain Name Suffix
According to the Associated Press, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers has posted a list of around 2,000 applications for new domain name suffixes. These applications were received by ICANN as part of its program to expand existing domain naming system by adding new suffixes. Among the new domain name suffixes will be those based on brands so that companies can simplify URLs for their websites and enhance their branding.
Apple MacBook Air design patent could disrupt Ultrabook rollouts
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued on Tuesday Apple Design Patent No. D661,296 which covers the asymmetrical wedge-like or so-called "teardrop" shape first introduced in the company's MacBook Air line of computers. Such patent may cause problems for Ultrabook manufactures, replicating the MacBook Air's look.
Despite the fact that the patent describes design details, it gives also schematic illustrations that provide an exhaustive look at how the MacBook Air's body differs from existing thin-and-light PCs.
Facebook Launches New iPhone App For Uploading And Sharing Photos
Just after Facebook acquired photo sharing service Instagram for 1$ billion, the company announced Facebook Camera app for iPhone in a today. The app allows uploading a batch of photos at a time and features filters and other photo editing tools. The standard Facebook app allows you to upload only one picture at a time. When first opening Camera app, it detects all Facebook accounts associated with the iPhone, so that you can upload pictures immediately.

Sharp Will Share Technology With Foxconn For New iPhone Plant
Today Reuters , citing Japanese business newspaper Nikkey, that Sharp will provide its technology to Foxconn’s parent company Hon Hai for a new plant in Chengdu, China that will produce displays for Apple’s devices. The move follows the between Sharp and Foxconn in March that saw Hon Hai investing 844$ million in new Sharp’s shares for 11% stake of the company. Reuters said:

Reading List is definitely a good alternative to such third party apps as Readability, Pocket and Instapaper for Safari users. Reading List allows users to save links and sync them across Mac and iOS devices for later reading. The feature has been expected to appear in Safari on Mountain Lion, and it seems the Reading List finally landed. Today Gear Live that Reading List was enabled in recent Mountain Lion builds. Pod2g has announced the discovery of a way to untether the iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak for the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G.
Previously these devices would not be compatible with the untether.

Apple Wins Dispute Over iPhone5.com Domain
This month Apple of iPhone5.com that was used by domain squatter for a forum with lots of ads. The company filed a claim with WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), who today is said to have granted its request. The Next Web, the squatter has ceded control of the domain that is now under control of the company called Corporation Service Company that can transfer the ownership to Apple.
Retina-displays Will Add Up To 100$ To MacBook Pro Costs
According to CNET’s , "Retina" or "HiDPI" displays widely rumored to be used in MacBook Pro models are now available in the supply chain and they costs up to 100$ more than existing non-Retina displays.
Senior Analyst in DisplaySearch Richard Shim said that a 15.4-inch Retina display with 2880x1800 resolution and 220 ppi density currently costs about $160, compared to the 68$ Apple spends on displays in current 15-inch MacBook Pro models.

Sadly pod2g has discovered that his untether does not work on the iPod 3G or iPhone 3GS, according to a recent tweet by the hacker.
Sad news. Just tested the untether on an iPod 3G. The kernel vulnerability don't happen on this one. I think iPhone 3Gs is out too.
the iOS version don't really matter. It's about the hardware.

Retina Displays Also Coming to Next-Generation iMac
Joanna Stern from ABC News claims that not only the MacBook Pro family but also the iMac line is set to gain ultra high-resolution "Retina" displays.
The laptop will see the introduction of the “Mac Retina Display,” which is said to have a very high resolution. ABC News has similarly heard from its own sources that both the next MacBook Pro and the iMac would be getting very, very high-resolution displays. Apple refreshed its new iPad with a Retina Display in March.
It seems natural that Apple wants to move all its displays to the retina standard. But, it’s unclear, how Apple will implement the increased resolution given that most Macs already approach Retina resolution at typical viewing distances.

iOS Dropped To 29 Percent Of US Smartphone Sales In The First Quarter
CNET that iOS U.S. market share dropped by 12 percent in the first quarter, which enable Google’s Android to take almost two-thirds of the market.
According to market research company NPD Group, Android was able to capture 61 percent of the U.S. market, which is a considerable gain from the 49 percent registered in last year’s fourth quarter.
