On Saturday, Apple started offering digital gift cards that can be purchased via the Apple app Store, and online store. These cards will be available for sending them to friends and family using Passbook. The company first announced that the electronic gift cards will be available when the Apple Store application was updated this week, however, digital coupons were not available for purchase until Saturday.
Since the first shipment of the pre-orders for the iPad mini has already sold, tablets hit records wholesale and retail sales. About 850,000 units will be sold in first week of sales. In a report, obtained by AppleInsider, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that in the first week of sales Apple may ship about 850,000 iPad mini, based on a check of the supply chain and logistical considerations, such as transportation.

Apple has confirmed that it will not be selling an unlocked version of the iPhone 5 in the U.S. at launch, reports The Verge.
We spoke with several Apple Store customer service representatives today, who informed us that US customers won't be able to sign up for the unlocked variant of Apple's new flagship phone when pre-orders start early tomorrow morning. Apple announced the company results for Q2 2012. Apple has $110 billion in cash reserves, which is up from $81.5 billion in September 2011. Apple was also up in every other segment with $18.4 billion in short-term marketable securities (up from $16.1 billion) and long-term marketable securities at $81.6 billion, which is up from $55.6 billion in the previous six-month period ending September 2011.
