Apple's A7 Processor is Manufactured by Samsung

Apple’s still working with Samsung - Chipworks has confirmed that the A7 chip used in iPhone 5s is manufactured by the South-Korean company.

We have confirmed through early analysis that the device is fabricated at Samsung’s Foundry and we will confirm process type and node later today as analysis continues. That being said, we suspect we will see Samsungs 28 nm Hi K metal Gate (HKMG) being used. We have observed this same process in the Samsung Exynos Application processor used in the Galaxy S IV. Our engineers will be deprocessing the Apple A7 as soon as they can to confirm this or to provide different information.

One of the Apple’s main rivals is one of its main suppliers.

iOS Share of Mobile Web Usage Has Fallen 11%

The latest report from NetApplications shows that Apple’s mobile web share has fallen 11% in the last 12 months. The main reason for such fall is probably the mass production of cheap Android smartphones and tablets that become more and more popular in Europe and Asia. Looks like things aren’t so good for the company from Cupertino.

According to survey results released Sunday, iOS' share of Web usage hit an all-time low of 54.9% in August, down 11 percentage points (16.7%) from the 65.9% it held in August 2012. Android, meanwhile, surged to 28.1% from 21% last year, up 7.1 points (34.3%).

Anyway, there’re still some chances for Apple to get out of serious troubles. Yes, I’m now talking about the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C releases as well as about the two new iPads, which are expected to be unveiled this fall.

Instagram Acquires Luma Camera App

Instagram has acquired the Luma Camera application and this is the main reason why it is now removed from the App Store. Such purchase will certainly help to improve the Instagram app itself, since the Luma Camera could have boasted of real-time filters, pinch to zoom feature and video stabilization on top of that. Analysts predict - and this is quite obvious - that we shall see all of the above mentioned features embedded to Instagram very soon.
