Apple's Suppliers Are Ramping up Production of Components for iPad Air 2
According to the latest report from DigiTimes, Apple's suppliers are currently ramping up the production of components for the next-generation 9.7-inch iPad Air that is expected to be officially unveiled this fall alongside the Retina iPad mini. The new tablet will boast of faster A8 processor, improved Touch ID fingerprint sensor and some other hardware and software enhancements. Reliable insiders also believe that the tablet will become thinner. At the same time, the size and the display resolution of the device will reportedly remain unchanged.
New Details About A8 Chip Appear Online
Several new rumors have recently appeared online, which deal with the new A8 chip that is expected to be added to the iPhone 6. According to these rumors, the processor will remain dual-core, however, it will feature a speed of 2.0 GHz or even more. Making a processor for the new flagship dual-core and not quad-core is rather a strange step. Nevertheless, we all know that even such a weak at the first glance SoC copes with the required tasks better than the chips with multiple cores found inside of the rivals' smartphones.
Apple to Release New MacBook Model Soon
As noted by Digitimes reporters, Apple may launch an updated MacBook model at the end of this year or at the beginning of 2015. The reporters cite Chinese supply chain sources and claim that the laptop will become slightly thinner. Moreover, they say that the manufacture of some components for the device has already begun.
As you probably know, because of the new larger MacBook model, the guys from Cupertino are expected to stop the production of the non-Retina 13-inch MacBook Air. Although these are only rumors now, I don't think such a decision of Apple's executives will be a tragedy for Apple fans.

5.5-inch iPhone 6 to Get Faster Processor Than 4.7-inch Handset?
As you probably know, Apple’s 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will differ from the 4.7-inch device. According to the previous reports from several analysts and rumors, the handset will get an optical image stabilization system and a separate NFC chip.
Today a new report from Cowen & Co. analyst Timothy Arcuri appeared online, which suggests that aside from the improvements I’ve mentioned above, the larger iPhone 6 will get a faster processor.
iOS Global Usage Falls - Analysts
According to the latest figures from a research firm Net Applications, the global usage of Apple’s iOS as an operating system has fallen behind Android. Well, of course, the market in terms of the so-called install base has been for months or even years led by Google’s mobile operating system, but this is probably the first time when the guys from Cupertino lost the competitive struggle in terms of the actual user base.

Moreover, as noted by one of the company employees, October will be a very busy month for the guys from Cupertino. This indicates that there may be some other product launches. For example, Apple may unveil the long-anticipated iWatch and updated iPad Air and iPad mini.
