Class action lawsuit filed against Apple over iPhone 4 ‘glassgate’

glassgate

A California resident has filed a class action lawsuit against Apple. He claims that the company doesn’t warn customers enough about the fragility of the iPhone 4. He said that his iPhone 4′s glass broke when his daughter dropped the device from a height of about 3 feet, while sending a text message. He tried the same experiment with an iPhone 3GS, which didn't break. The man even claims that Apple “knows about the design flaw and refuses to warn consumers that “normal” use leads essentially to a broken phone.” Though, as Apple claims, the iPhone 4′s glass is 30 times harder than plastic and is the same “glass used in helicopters and high-speed trains.” But a survey of 20,000 damaged iPhone 4 proved that the iPhone 4′s glass breaks 82% more than the iPhone 3GS’s glass.

whiteiphoneyay

As reported, Apple teamed up with an unnamed Japanese company finally developed a new process for controlling the uniform application of white paint to the iPhone 4. As rumors, appeared due to delay of the white iPhone 4, claimed, the device wasn’t launched in time because of problems with the paint being used, which led  to light leaking through the painted surfaces. And recently the device has been listed in AT&T's Online Account Management system as an option for users managing their accounts online. Both 16GB and 32GB versions of the phone listed in the model picker, which could definitely suggest that the company is getting ready to finally make them available. 1 Megapixel Rear Camera On The iPad 2

camera

The latest iOS SDK code for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad revealed evidence that shows that the next-generation iPad will in fact offer both front- and rear-facing cameras. The first one will be a 1 MP rear camera capable of shooting photos and videos, and the second one will be a VGA front-facing camera for FaceTime and other camera functionalities. Such camera is pretty close to the fourth-generation iPod touch’s 0.7 megapixel back camera. That means you’ll be able to take 720P video with your new iPad. A 1-megapixel camera on the iPad 2 would be significantly lower than expected 5-megapixel lens on the iPhone 4.
