Apple Announces Financial Results in Q3 2015





Apple on Tuesday announced its financial results in the third fiscal or second calendar quarter of 2015. According to the numbers, which were shared by the guys from Cupertino at a conference call yesterday, the company managed to earn $49.6 billion in revenue and $10.7 billion in net profit during the last quarter. If to compare these financial results with the results of the year-ago quarter, we’ll see that they are noticeably higher. The revenue of Q3 2014 was equal to $37.4 billion and the net profit accounted for $7.7 billion.

Apple Seeds Fourth OS X 10.11 El Capitan Beta to Developers



Apart from seeding iOS 9 Beta 4 to testers, the guys from Cupertino have recently made the fourth pre-release build of OS X 10.11 El Capitan available for registered members of the program for developers. The release took place two weeks after the debut of the previous El Capitan beta, which contained a number of under-the-hood enhancements.

Apple Continues Hiring Automotive Industry Experts



Looks like the guys from Cupertino haven’t given up the idea of creating their own electric car. According to the latest report from The Wall Street Journal, Apple has recently hired former Chrysler executive, or, to be more precise, the Senior Vice President of the Chrysler Group Doug Betts. His LinkedIn page shows that he’s now working at Apple in the San Francisco Bay Area. However, no other details about this new hire have been shared by Apple or the Cupertino-based company.

Apple Releases New iPhone 6 Ad Called "Amazing Apps"



As you probably know, the guys from Cupertino have recently started a new iPhone ad campaign. The main idea of this campaign sounds like “If it’s not an iPhone, it’s not an iPhone”. Apple has already shown us two commercials shot for the new campaign, namely, “Loved” and “Hardware & Software”. Both short videos are available at link.

Now the time has come for a new ad. It is called “Amazing Apps” and as you might have guessed, it tells us about the applications developed for the iPhone and the place where these applications are stored - the App Store. The commercial is available below and on Apple’s official YouTube channel.

Apple to Expand Minimum Amount of iPhone 6s Storage to 32GB - Rumor



According to the latest report from M.I.C. Gadget, the guys from Cupertino are currently planning to expand the minimum storage of the next-generation iPhone. Instead of using 16GB, Apple is said to equip the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus with 32GB of memory. This will make the handsets a bit more expensive, however, the increase in memory will allow users to download and store more files directly in their smartphones. It should be noted, however, that the rumor about new minimum storage option comes from insiders who have reportedly seen the packaging of the would-be devices. Well, that’s not the most reliable source of information, so I guess we should take the aforementioned report with a few pinches of salt.

Saurik Releases Cydia Impactor Tweak Capable of ‘Unjailbreaking’ Your iOS Device



A well-known hacker saurik has recently released a new tweak called Cydia Impactor. This tweak allows you to 'unjailbreak' your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch without connecting it to computer and performing a full system restore, which deletes user data and erases all the settings. According to the developer of the tweak, the tiny tool gives an opportunity to restore system files and data removed or damaged during the process of jailbreak. Cydia Impactor will be helpful for those people, who don’t like syncing their iOS device with computer or those who plan to quickly 'unjailbreak' the smartphone or tablet before selling or giving it away.

Ming-Chi Kuo Posts New Predictions about Apple Watch, New iPad mini and iMac



According to the latest report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will soon show us the Apple Watch Sport in new yellow and rose gold colors to match the style of the upcoming iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Although the sales are expected to be lower that it was predicted earlier, the guys from Cupertino may still sell nearly 10 million smartwatch units.

Leaked Images Show iPhone 6s Plus Rear Shell with Minor Changes



Several new images showing something what appears to be a rear shell for the upcoming iPhone 6s Plus have recently appeared on the Internet. Future Supplier blog reporters claim the part is nearly identical in size and shape to the rear shell of the iPhone 6 Plus. Probably the only really noticeable difference is the location of the holes for screws that hold the loud speaker module. Apart from that, “the 6S Plus’ rear housing is stronger”. Looks like the guys from Cupertino did their best to make the smartphone strong enough not to bend in your pocket. Well, that’s what we all expected, right?

Samsung and TSMC Start Production of A9 Chips for Next-Gen iPhones



According to the latest report from usually-reliable DigiTimes reporters, Apple partners, Samsung and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, have recently started the mass production of the A-series chips for the upcoming iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, which are expected to be officially released as soon as in September. In addition to the processors, TSMC will also supply Apple with fingerprint sensors and audio chips for the next-generation handsets, sources claim. The start of mass production of one of the most important iPhone component indicates that Apple plans to release new devices this fall, in accordance with the usual release schedule. It should be noted, however, that TSMC is currently not working at full capacity.

New iPod touch Benchmark Results Appeared Online



As you already know, the guys from Cupertino released a new iPod touch on Wednesday. The portable player can boast of a new 64-bit A8 processor, 8-megapixel camera and a bunch of other noticeable improvements. Several hours after the release of the gadget, first benchmark result appeared on the Internet. The device has a processor with a clock speed of 1.10GHz per core and presumably 1GB of RAM.

Apple Releases New iPod touch with A8 Processor Inside, Refreshed iPod shuffle and iPod nano



Just as we expected, Apple on Wednesday released a brand new iPod touch and refreshed the entire lineup of iPods with new colors. The updated iPod touch can boast of the 64-bit A8 processor and M8 motion coprocessor, 4-inch display, 8-megapixel camera. As to the memory capacity, it is equal to 16GB, 32GB, 64GB or 128GB. The price depends on the capacity of the gadget and starts from $199 for the lower-end 16GB portable player and ends with $399 for the 128GB model.

Apple Releases OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 Beta to Developers for Testing



As you already know, the guys from Cupertino have recently released iOS 8.4.1 beta to developers for testing. Apart from seeding a new version of the mobile operating system, Apple has also made OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 Beta 1 available for developers. To be honest, this is a surprise for me as I thought that OS X 10.10.4, released earlier this summer, will be the last build of OS X before the debut of OS X 10.11 El Capitan this fall.
