According to the latest report from a research firm Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, in 2015, Apple became the top smartphone vendor in the United States of America and China. New devices, namely, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus, allowed to beat the rivals and become the leader of such important markets. Strong demand for both handsets generated record-breaking revenue as well.

Apple Announces Financial Results in Q1 2016



Apple on Tuesday announced the financial results in the first fiscal quarter of 2016. The tech giant posted quarterly revenue of $75.9 billion and net profit of $18.4 billion. In the year-ago quarter, Apple posted quarterly revenue of $74.6 billion and net profit of $18 billion, so looks like we have a new record here. The reason for such good results is quite obvious: first fiscal quarter corresponds to the fourth calendar quarter better known as the winter holiday quarter. Traditionally, Apple sells more products during these couple of months.

iOS and OS X Users Report About Problems with Safari



A wide number of users on Apple Support Communities forum are reporting about the issues with Safari address bar and the browser in general. The problem affects both iOS and OS X users and seems to be restricted to devices running iOS 9.2.1 and OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 released a couple of days ago. Apple hasn’t yet commented on the issue or released a fix for the problem, but there’s one workaround that helps most users.

According to the leaked schematics showing something similar to the iPad Air 3 design, the tablet will feature a rear LED flash as well as four speakers at the top and bottom of its aluminum body. The image, which is available below, was obtained by Nowhereelse.fr from a reliable source who was correct in the past. I believe the device shown on the leaked schematics is indeed the next-generation iPad Air since it looks similar to the devices of the current lineup.

4-inch iPhone to Get A9 Processor and M9 Coprocessor - Rumor



According to the latest report from trusted sources, the widely-rumored 4-inch iPhone 5SE, which is expected to be released in March, may be equipped with Apple’s A9 processor and the M9 motion coprocessor. There are several prototypes of the handset with A8 and A9 chips on board, but it is very likely that the latter one will be added to the final version of the device.

Apple to Release New 4-inch iPhone and iPad Air 3 in First Half of 2016



According to the latest report from usually-reliable KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, in the first half of 2016, Apple will release the long-awaited 4-inch iPhone and the iPad Air 3. The expert doesn’t believe these products will become very popular and because of this fact has changed the shipment estimates for these devices. Now the expert thinks Apple will sell between 10-12 million iPhone 5SE units. Previously it was believed that the company may ship 18-20 million units of the updated 4-inch smartphone in 2016.

Japan Display Confirms OLED Panels Production in 2018



Japan Display has recently confirmed that it will start the production of OLED panels in 2018. Even though the manufacturer haven’t disclosed any additional details about the client requiring these new panels, it is almost clear that it is Apple that will be using new OLED displays in the iPhones starting in 2018. Looks like now Japan Display has officially become the rival of LG Display and Samsung who also compete to supply Apple with new OLED displays.

Google Paid $1 Billion to Remain Default iOS Search Engine in 2014



It is no secret that Apple’s long-term market rival, Google, pays the company to remain one of the default search engines on iOS devices like iPhones, iPads and iPod touch units. Up until now, the exact sum paid by the search giant annually have been unknown to public. Thanks to the details of Oracle's recent copyright lawsuit against Google, which were obtained by reliable Bloomberg reporters, we now know that in 2014, the sum spent by Google to remain one of the default search engines on Apple’s portable devices accounted for impressive $1 billion. By the way, this figure goes in line with the one shared by reliable insiders back in 2012, so I guess we can believe the recent report.
