Samsung’s Lawyers Ask Apple To See iPhone 5 and iPad 3
Samsung’s lawyers have asked Apple to hand over “final, commercial versions” of the next-generation iPhone and iPad and the retail packaging design of the devices. The company wants to evaluate if their future products, like the Droid Charge and the Galaxy Tab 10.1, could have similar features with them. This countersuit was filed after Samsung was asked to hand over Apple its prototypes of the Droid Charge, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Infuse 4G and Galaxy S 2. In order to avoid future confusion with the Apple’s products, Samsung is asking the court to apply the same procedure that granted Apple’s lawyers access to Samsung’s upcoming products.
Smartphones threaten TV advertising
Hollywood advertisements makers are afraid of online video streaming and a recent studies proves that. IPG Media Lab studied people’s behavior when they watched TV. They found out that people usually had the TV on, but they were not actively engaged and watched. The company studies 48 participants and about 94% of them were distracted during the 30 minutes of watching. The iPhone and other smartphones account for 60 percent of the distractions from TV ads, according to a behavioral survey. It’s not surprisingly, because it’s obvious that when you glance away, you miss the commercials on TV.
Samsung Will Hand Over Prototypes of Phones and Tablets to Apple
The legal battle between Apple and Samsung — sued for allegedly copying the “look and feel” of the iPhone and iOS with its Galaxy devices — it’s far from over. Apple is now asking Samsung to hand over prototypes of unreleased phones and tablets for legal scrutiny. With the federal court ruling that Samsung will have to send these units to Apple’s legal team, Samsung is being forced to send the unreleased Droid Charge, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 to Apple, though the other two devices mentioned, the Infuse 4G and Galaxy S 2, have already been released publicly in the United Kingdom and United States, respectively.
OmniVision Introduces 5 MP Sensor With 1080p Video Recording
DigiTimes claimed that the new iPhone 4S would contain an 8 MP camera from OmniVision Technologies, and to some degree it makes sense. Sony’s CEO in April made a fleeting comment suggesting that it would be supplying Apple with an 8MP camera for the next iPhone.
OmniVision introduced a new 5MP image sensor, the OV5690, that was developed to produce the “best-in-class image quality” whilst being an effective solution for slimmer mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers by reducing the size of the camera module. With contradicting reports on whether the next iPhone will contain a 5 MP camera or an 8 MP camera, this new product certainly lends weight to the suggestion that it could have a 5 MP camera.

Apple Continues to Close on Nokia for Title of World's Top Smartphone Vendor
Apple continues to hold second place among the world's top smartphone manufacturers with 18.7% market behind Nokia, with unit sales up 114% year-over-year. Although market-leader Nokia's smartphone share declines, Apple’s share is rising by three percentage from the year-ago quarter.
Apple reached a new record shipment volume in a single quarter, and inched closer to market leader Nokia with fewer than six million units separating the two companies. The company posted market-beating year-over-year growth and recorded triple-digit growth in two key markets: the United States, with the release of its CDMA-enabled iPhone, and Greater China.
