Samsung Galaxy Tab Is an 'Over-Sized Phone', Not Tablet
Sencha, which is a web application developer, has recently compared Android-based Samsung Galaxy Tab and Apple's iPad and made a conclusion that a Samsung's tablet is "a little bit of disappointment".
As Sencha develops different JavaScript frameworks that enable developers to creating rich mobile apps for Android and iOS devices built from web standards, the company is interested to know how good actual products perform and support HTML5 and related web standards. The latter include overall JavaScript performance, embedded multimedia playback, Web Sockets, Canvas animations, SVG and advanced CSS3 transforms. Here are the results received by Sencha in their tests of Galaxy Tab and iPad:

Google Announced New Version of Android Market
This week Google has released a new version of its client app for Android Market, which will work on any smartphone running Android OS 1.6 or higher.
The company aims to facilitate the process of discovering new software and its purchase. That's why new Android Market will have a Cover Flow-like style of app listings and include new categories like Widgets and Live Wallpapers, as currently the catalog is filled pretty much with these kinds of software. Besides that, app pages will now have more info and links to related content.

Five years of Apple: 2005 iBook to 2010 MacBook Air
Five years ago, Apple was selling the iBook G4 which evolved from the original iMac. The iBook released mid 2005 got 1.33 or 1.42 GHz PowerPC G4 processors, 12.1 inch or 14.1 inch display, weighted 4.9 lbs (2.2 kg) (smaller version) or 5.9 lbs (2.7 kg) (larger version). Both models had 1024x768 screen resolution and were 1.35 inches (3.4 cm) thick.
Apple's latest laptop, the 11.6 inch MacBook Air, is equipped with 1.4 or 1.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, weighs just 2.3 lbs (1.04 kg) and is only 0.68 inches (1.7 cm) at its thickest.
DevTeam Successfully Untethers iPhone iOS 4.2.1 Jailbreak

Leaked videos reveal new 'PlayStation Phone'
Last week two hands-on videos have been posted on YouTube revealing the new Sony Ericsson's 'PlayStation Phone'.
As it can be seen from the video, the device called Zeus has slide-out physical controls like in Sony PSP but with rumored multi-touch touchpad, 4-inch display and runs on Android "Gingerbread" 2.3.

iPhone 5 May Have Live TV And Pico Projector
Ticondegora Securities analyst Brian White and his team are touring Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, and China this week. In Taipei he met with a few suppliers and heard from them that miniature embedded pico projectors and mobile digital TV will presumably become major selling features in the next-gen smartphones.
Though iPhone were not mentioned among these smartphones, in his note to investors White assures such features would be interesting for Apple to implement in "iPhone 5", which is expected to be released traditionally in June of the next year.

HTC stated the problem of 'death grip' in HD7 is negligible

Apple Posts New iPad Ad To Showcase iOS 4.2 Features
Recently Apple posted the new iPad commercial called “iPad is amazing” on their official webpage. New ad is aimed to showcase new iOS 4.2 features, including AirPlay, AirPrint, multitasking and the usual selection of apps. Surprisingly that no folders are shown in the video. Enjoy!
Apple’s plans for 2011
Apple seems to have grate plans for 2011. So, we’d summarized all rumors and official statement, and formed the following list, which shows Apple's plans for the new year:
- Lion OS;
- Mac App Store;
- iPad 2
- Implementing of Light Peak optical interconnect technology developed by Intel to replace such things like USB, DisplayPort and HDMI. In future, the technology has the potential to reach speeds of 100Gbps. it is also requires smaller connections and thinner cables;
- New model of MacBook Pro notebooks equipped with Intel's Light Peak, 512 GB of SSD storage, without an optical drive. These MacBook Pro's will last longer, run quieter and be lighter and more power-efficient;
- Apple-branded Blu-ray player/burning device which is also capable of burning standard optical media such as DVD or CD;
- Subscription service via iTunes, which would be focused on video services.

WiFi Connection Issues Still Affecting iOS 4.2.1 for iPad
Early this month we reported that Apple delayed the release of iOS 4.2 due to the Wi-Fi connection issues. Apple even released a second GM build for iPad to address the Wi-Fi issues. Finally, the iOS 4.2.1 went public. But iPad users still report that they experience Wi-Fi problems after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1. Some iPads fail to join a known WiFi network, some connect but connection drops after 5-10 minutes, some don’t drop the connection but are incredibly slow at rendering web pages and, for example, Youtube videos. Though the iOS 4.2.1 offers its users some fixes, including router reboots, resetting the iPad’s network settings and full restore to iOS 4.2.1, they seem not to work. Nevertheless not every an iPad user experiences such problems.
