My personal top 30 Cydia tweaks of 2011. The tweaks chosen are both new and old, popular and unpopular. 30 is a big number so, I hope that most of you are able to find a tweak that you will enjoy having on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. The tweaks are my personal picks and we all will have our opinion. As it is known typing on an iPad is not as comfortable as on traditional keyboards. However, in time frustrations goes away as users adapt to new way of typing. If you were to work with iPad’s onscreen keyboard like with traditional keyboard, you would definitely make accidental key presses. This considerable lowers the speed of typing, so users have to not rest their fingers on keys.

Maybe you have already encountered a term “prior art”. This term is used in patent law and means all information that was disclosed to the public about an invention before a date of filing application. So, if an invention has already been described in prior art, the patent will not be valid. Samsung decided to make use of this law and has put forward a sci-fi argument in its legal dispute with Apple. It has gone so far as to cite a movie ’2001: A Space Odyssey’ by Stanley Kubrick as prior art against iPad.

9to5mac recently found new code files, related to the announced iOS5-wide voice-recognition app called Assistant. They allow to suggest that the app will be able to browse a user’s e-mail, address book, phone application, calendars and even to open links. However, this is only a suggestion since the code files may not be related to the final version of Assistant.

In the The Wall Street Journal’s article about Intel investing $300 million on developing "Ultrabook" platform, an Intel executive revealed that Apple was threatening to drop Intel’s processors if they didn’t made their chips less power-consuming.

TechCrunch recently wrote that Qualcomm not long ago had launched Augmented Reality Software Development Kit (SDK) for Apple’s iOS. Original SDK was available only for Android, but Qualcomm had announced that version for iOS would be released in July. The SDK is designed to facilitate integration of virtual content and real content such as images taken with cameras on many handheld devices.

The new OS X Lion includes not only many improvements but also side-effects. Adobe has found issues in new OS related to its applications and posted a list of them in knowledge base article last week. The list is rather long, but the main issue is the absence of hardware acceleration for Flash Player in new Lion.

Homeless musician Dred Scott plays for street walkers at outdoor near 16th Street Mall in Denver.

One local producer met him, recorded his singing and music, and released an album via iTunes to help the musician leave the streets.
