KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo, a popular analyst who made a number of accurate Apple forecasts, has published a few predictions concerning Apple’s upcoming low-cost iPhone 5C.
According to recent information, the iPhone 5C will coast around $400 - $500. In August it will get more than 700 million subscribers through China Mobile. It will eat into iPhone 5S and iPhone 5 share of the market, taking 25 and 35% correspondingly.

Analyst forecasts concerning iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S
Gene Munster, a famous analyst, has published a research note concerning his thoughts about the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S.
According to Munster, the iPhone 5C will not boast Siri and it will replace iPhone 4S and will be selling for $300 off contract.
In terms of the phone itself, we expect the cheaper phone to have a plastic casing, 4" display, and lower end internal specs (processor, camera, memory, etc.) than the 5S/5 line up. Additionally, we believe that Apple may exclude some software features, such as Siri, which we note was not an option on the iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 upon launch.
Foxconn profits raise by 41% due to high iPhone sales
According to The Wall Street Journal, Hon Hai Precision Industry Company, widely recognized as Foxconn, has experienced an abrupt upsurge of 41% of the second quarter profits. Foxconn is Apple's leading iPhone and iPad assembler, and the increase in revenue is accounte to by high iPhone sales rates.
The report notes that 40% of Foxconn's profits come from Apple. In the second quarter of 2013 the figure of net profit of Hon Hai Precision Industry reached the top point of NT$16.98 billion (USD $566.7 Million) as compared NT$12.06 billion (USD $402 million) from the same period in 2012.
Pegatron revenue upsurges thanks to iPhone production
According to Reuters, Apple supplier Pegatron is likely to enjoy a 50 percent increase in Q3 revenue. The supplier reaches the figure despite the stable decline of its PC business continuing. The sector responsible for the revenue upsuge is the iPhone. The following announcement was made by Pegatron after the company did not live up o analyst's expectations concerning revenue in Q2.
“We expect revenue in the non-computing segment to grow by 40 to 50 percent in Q3 due to new consumer products. Q4 will also be higher,” said company CEO and President Jason Cheng in an investor conference.
Pegatron is most likely to be responsible for production of the low-budget iPhone 5C – the plastic iPhone. Moreover, Digitimes rumored that it may turn to be the second iPhone 5S supplier, although Foxconn is responsible for the major production. Both handsets are expected to be announced by Apple on 10th September.
Delays in supply chain to slow iPhone 5S release
According to Digitimes, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is delaying with components supply. Therefore, the launch of the iPhone 5S may be put off and Apple might ship “only 3-4 million units in the third quarter of 2013 compared to 10 million units as originally planned”. It should be noted that a similar report, only lacking exact figures and specifics, was published on July 15th. Besides it is not the first time Apple CEO Tim Cook admits that the plans of Cupertino company may be put off due to delays in supply-chains.
Mass production of the fingerprint sensors was originally scheduled to begin in May at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and then to be packaged at Xintec, a TSMC subsidiary, the sources indicated. However, the production of the sensors has been delayed due to issues related to integration between iOS 7 and fingerprint chips, as well as a low yield rate at packaging firm Xintec, the sources revealed.
An engineering team composed of engineers from Apple and TSMC has been dispatched to Xintec recently to help ramp up the yield rate for the packaging of fingerprint sensors, revealed the sources, adding that the supply chain will be able to start volume production of fingerprint chips at the end of August.

Have a look at the high quality photos, that show the similarities and differences between the alleged digitizer and lcd screen assembly of the iPhone 5S with that of the iPhone 5.
As you can see, the main differences are in the the ribbon cables and the screw placement. This means that some modifications were made to the logic board. Unfortunately, as you can see, there is nothing that could prove the appearance of the rumored fingerprint scanner in the new version.

Apple's Lower Cost iPhone Would Have the Same 8MP Camera as iPhone 5
Looks like the Apple’s lower cost iPhone would be an iPhone 5 plastic copy. Apart from the other similar hardware solutions, it is said to get an 8-megapixel rear camera.
Foxconn is emplying staff for Low-Cost iPhone and iPhone 5S
It is reported that Foxconn is employing staff to produce the requested amount of Apple's next generation iPhone (iPhone 5S) and the low cost budget iPhone (iPhone 5C).
Hon Hai Group, or Foxconn, is about to employ around 90,000 workers to improve the productivity of its Shenzhen facility. Before the plant reached 210,000 workers, with a peak of 300,000.
The additional employees will help with orders for Apple's iPhone 5S, the one boasting the rumored finger print scanner, upgraded processor, improved camera and more. The low cost iPhone is speculated to be the iPhone 5C will feature a plastic shell in multiple colors with comparable specs to the current iPhone 5.
