While first builds of Windows 10 will become available for the registered users of the Insider Program only in February, we can still take a look at how the OS looks like.

Apple Releases Another OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 Beta to Developers

Apple has just seeded a new OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 beta to developers for testing. The release comes nearly four weeks after the release of the previous beta and that is a bit strange, since the guys from Cupertino usually make new beta version available for developers once in two weeks. Such a long interval between two releases is probably caused by holidays.

Apple Releases iOS 8.1.1 with Stability Improvements and Bug Fixes

Apple has just released iOS 8.1.1 to users worldwide. The public release comes two weeks after the release of the beta version that contained a wide number of bug fixes, but lacked new functionality. Looks like this is another minor update aimed at making the mobile operating system more stable. What is also interesting about iOS 8.1.1 is that it reportedly kills Pangu untethered jailbreak, so if you want to keep your device jailbroken, stay away from this software update.

Apple Stopped Signing First iOS 8.1.1 Beta, Official Release Is Near?

Apple has recently stopped signing the first beta of iOS 8.1.1, but hasn't yet released the second one. This indicates that the official release of iOS 8.1.1 may take place in the near future. Just for you to understand: once the new version is released, the guys from Cupertino will stop signing iOS 8.1, making it impossible to jailbreak your device using Pangu8 as well as to restore it to this version of the operating system. As you already know, iOS 8.1.1 kills Pangu jailbreak, so you should not upgrade if you want to keep your iPhone jailbroken.

PanguTeam Releases Update on iOS 8 - 8.1 Jailbreak

The PanguTeam on Saturday released an important update on the status of its jailbreak utility for iOS 8 - 8.1. As you probably know, earlier this week, the hackers released a new version of untethered jailbreak for iOS 8 - 8.1. It should be noted, however, that this version turned out to be very unstable and was available only for Windows users, that is why the PaunguTeam decided to pull the update back and make it available only for jailbreak developers.

Saurik Releases iOS 8 Version of Cydia

Saurik has released an iOS 8 compatible version of Cydia for manual download following the release of an untethered Pangu jailbreak for iOS 8 - iOS 8.1.

I've given a new version of Cydia Installer in the form of a standard jailbreak bootstrap for inclusion in a new version of their jailbreak. I've also pushed the .deb of the iOS 8 version of Cydia to apt.saurik.com for manual download, but not yet to my repository. A lot of thanks goes out to limneos, who tested the new build for me, as I was at an airport (and now am frantically typing this message while they figure out how to retract the jetbridge from the plane I'm on that is about to take off).

Recently the Pangu8 jailbreak was released for Windows only, and without a compatible version of Cydia. Now that the compatible Cydia deb has been released you can download it from here: http://apt.saurik.com/debs/cydia_1.1.13 ... os-arm.deb.

Apple Currently Testing Three New iOS 8 Versions?

According to the latest reports from people familiar with the matter and according to the recent web traffic data, the guys from Cupertino are currently testing three iOS 8 versions. This may indicate that Apple has come up with a new strategy of updating its mobile operating system. Earlier, a major update was released once in at least 5 or 6 months. For example, iOS 7 was released in September, 2013 and iOS 7.1 that contained the support of CarPlay, surfaced only in March of 2014. Taking into account the fact that Apple is already testing iOS 8.1, iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.3, it appears that the new versions of iOS may be released alongside new product launches.
