Apple's "Curved touch sensor" Patent Granted





Curved displays are the future. Well, this is what Samsung, LG and a number of other companies want us to believe. Back in October, Samsung announced the first smartphone ever with curved display and LG promised to release a curved OLED television.

The company from Cupertino couldn’t stand aside, so it came up with a patent for its own curved screen for smartphones, tablets and other gadgets. This patent was granted by U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Tuesday.

iPhone 5s is Available in U.S. Retail Stores - Gene Munster



Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray has issued a new report, claiming that Apple’s iPhone 5s is currently available in all of the retail stores across the USA. The analyst’s figures are based on data from 60 locations in different cities. According to what Munster writes, all models, either carrier-locked or unlocked and SIM-free, can be purchased right now.

China Mobile to Start Accepting Pre-Orders for Apple’s iPhone 5s and 5c on Thursday



According to the latest rumors, world’s largest carrier - China Mobile - will start accepting pre-orders for Apple’s iPhone 5s and 5c as soon as this Thursday. As to the date of the official launch, it is set for late December. At least this is what AppleInsider reports.

Apple to Take Part in Campaign against NSA’s “PRISM” Program



Apple has lined up with AOL, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Twitter, Yahoo and a number of other tech companies to fight against NSA’s “PRISM” program. According to what The Wall Street Journal reporters write (via 9to5mac), the company from Cupertino, together with its allies, is launching a campaign to resist the U.S. government and keep user’s data secured from third parties.

Number of Apps on U.S. App Store Reaches 1 Million



The number of apps on the U.S. App Store for both iPhone and iPad has reached 1 million. As of Saturday, there were 1,006,557 apps available for download, MacRumors reports. This figure doesn’t include “foreign” apps i.e. those available within one country or a couple of countries, but not in the United States.

China Mobile Denies Signing Deal with Apple - Negotiations in Progress



A few days ago The Wall Street Journal published a report claiming that Apple and China Mobile signed the partnership agreement. Well, looks like these companies actually failed to finish the negotiations and the information, provided by an unknown source, is just fake. What that means is that we don’t know for sure if the iPhone will debut on China Mobile network by the end of this year or not.

Apple Demands Compensation for Attorney's Fees



Apple spent nearly $60 million on a patent infringement lawsuit against its South Korean rival - Samsung. And now the guys from Cupertino are trying to recover at least a part of the money they wasted. According to the latest AppleInsider report, Apple filed a motion in U.S. District Court last Friday demanding a compensation for their attorneys' fees.
