Apple announced that it will hold its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) June 11 through June 15 at San Francisco’s Moscone West. Tickets were sold out in just two hours ($1,599 each).

AT&T has announced that it will unlock off contract iPhones.

Here AT&T's statement:

Beginning Sunday, April 8, we will offer qualifying customers the ability to unlock their AT&T iPhones. The only requirements are that a customer's account must be in good standing, their device cannot be associated with a current and active term commitment on an AT&T customer account, and they need to have fulfilled their contract term, upgraded under one of our upgrade policies or paid an early termination fee.

This is excellent news for the many U.S. customers with locked iPhones.

UPDATE: Apple released iOS 5.1.1 and has stopped signing iOS 5.1, so you can NOT restore to 5.1 any more (both original and custom), unless you have saved your SHSH keys for 5.0.1. If you are on 5.1 you can jailbreak with redsn0w. iOS is also tethered jailbreakable with redsn0w.

Meijer, a regional big-box retailer in the U.S., slashed the price of the 16GB iPad 2 with Wi-Fi by $70, and Best Buy has begun offering $50 off every iPad 2 model. These facts could, however, suggest that Foxconn is already preparing to ship the device's third-generation successor to Apple in the United States.

The alleged secret shipments from Foxconn were revealed in a shipping manifest from Apple.pro revealed this weekend, which shows a series of shipments scheduled to begin delivery in the U.S. no later than March 9. The mystery orders arriving from Chengdu, China, are said to be under high security. A source from Foxconn's Chengdu plant reportedly indicated that the shipment is for "Apple's latest products."

On Saturday, Apple’s late co-founder Steve Jobs was awarded a Grammy Trustees Award to his significant contributions to music and music industry, and his part in creating the iPod and iTunes music store, and the effect that both had on a whole music industry. That Jobs was awarded the Grammy was first announced in December, but the statue was not officially handed over until Saturday. A formal acknowledgement was made during the Grammy Awards telecast Sunday evening. The award is the second Grammy given to Jobs. Apple won a technical Grammy award in 2002.

Apple senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue, accepted the award on his behalf.

Apple has reportedly submitted revised plans for their so-called "Spaceship" campus. The company plans to break ground on the project next year and open the facility in 2015. This mega-campus in Cupertino, Calif., is expected to provide Apple with approximately 2.8 million square feet for up to 13,000 employees. Late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs personally presented the original plans for the campus to the City of Cupertino in June. Following Jobs' presentation, city officials quickly voiced support for the project. Jobs described it as follows:

It's a pretty amazing building. It's a little like a spaceship landed. It's got this gorgeous courtyard in the middle... It's a circle. It's curved all the way around. If you build things, this is not the cheapest way to build something. There is not a straight piece of glass in this building. It's all curved. We've used our experience making retail buildings all over the world now, and we know how to make the biggest pieces of glass in the world for architectural use. And, we want to make the glass specifically for this building here. We can make it curve all the way around the building... It's pretty cool.

The City of Cupertino posted an update to the company's "Apple Campus 2 Project" on Tuesday evening. Though most of the new renderings are higher-quality versions of the original design, some of the images show a darker color for the structure's roof. Other changes include addition of parking plans, drawings for a private jogging path and a proposed expansion of the corporate fitness center from the original proposal of 25,000 square feet to 45,000 square feet.

Steve Jobs' death certificate has been released, according to Blumberg. It claims that the causes of death were respiratory arrest and a pancreatic tumor.

Steve Jobs died at home of respiratory arrest and a pancreatic tumor at about 3 p.m. on Oct. 5, according to his death certificate. His occupation was listed as “entrepreneur.”

The Santa Clara County Public Health Department in San Jose, California, released the document today.

Many had believed that Steve Jobs' death was a result of a rare form of pancreatic cancer for which he was initially treated back in 2004 he also underwent a liver transplant in April 2009. Early that year he  had to go on medical leave. The official cause was "hormone imbalance" and continued his battle with pancreatic cancer until October 5th. A private funeral for Jobs was held last Friday. And recent information we’ve received tells us that Apple will be holding a celebration of his life for employees on Wednesday, October 19th.

The next iPhone that is codenamed "N94" has gained FCC ID "BCG-E2430A". This information was found in the latest iOS 5 Beta 7 release, from a file named "RegulatoryInfo-N94AP@2x~iphone.png" as related to the General > About > Regulatory section of the device’s Settings app.

This provides more proof that Apple is moving closer towards releasing much rumored iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S. The actual FCC filing is yet not found in the equipment authorization database, since Apple products typically don't show up in the data FCC's database until the same day the products are unveiled. This FCC IDs for iPhone 4 GSM and iPhone 4 CDMA are "BCG-E2380A" and "BCG-E2422A".

Whether this is an next-gen iPhone 5 or the much rumored iPhone 4S, we'll most likely have to wait till the fall to find out.

DigiTimes reports that iPhone 5 и iPad 3 components suppliers are preparing materials for production of the rumoured devices expected to debut in September and to be launched officially in October.

DigiTimes sources claim that production of the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 will begin in August. They predict that in third quarter 6-7 million units of the iPhone 5 will be produced.

Upstream component makers including Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry), which is in charge of assembling the devices; Simplo Technologies and Dynapack International Technology, in charge of manufacturing batteries; TPK Holding and Wintek, in charge of touch panel modules; Catcher, in charge of chassis; and Largan Precision, in charge of webcams, are all expected to benefit from the orders.
