iPhone X May Be Discontinued This Year



A report from Digitimes says that Apple may discontinue iPhone X this year as soon as new models are released in September. If this is to be true, iPhone X will be the second model after iPhone 5 with only one year of a lifespan.

Next Generation TrueDepth iPhone Camera Will Need a Stronger Battery



The KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo issued a research note where he predicted that the upgraded TrueDepth camera will need a battery with larger capacity and Apple has the technologies for developing such batteries.

The Cost of iPhone X Materials is $370.25 — IHS Markit



The research company IHS Markit has taken apart the iPhone X and shared the bill of materials for the device. The estimated cost of the iPhone X parts is $370.25, this is more expensive than parts for iPhone 8. The retail price of iPhone X starts from $999 USD.

Apple Planning to Remove Touch ID in 2018 iPhones



The KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that in next generation of iPhones Touch ID will be replaced by face recognition feature. Apple is going to use its advantage over Android manufacturers and implement 3D sensors in future iPhones. This will be a giant leap for Apple which relied on sole fingerprint recognition since iPhone 5S, released in 2013.
