iOS 7, released this fall, demonstrates probably the highest level of adoption, at least among the North American users. This is what the analytics firm called Chitika claims. According to the data, collected by the experts, about 74% of the internet traffic from iOS devices comes from those with iOS 7 on board.

The New iPhone 5s is the Top Selling Device in the U.S. Market



According to the latest Canaccord report, Apple’s iPhone 5s is the top smartphone sold at all U.S. carriers. The plastic iPhone 5c comes in the second or third place, depending on a particular carrier.

Apple corners mobile ad market.



iOS products are used to being outnumbered by Android, although Apple manages to become a market leader in advertisement sector. According to a recent study, Apple controls 75% of mobile ads market.

The share of Android is diminishing, as Samsung’s Galaxy S smartphones are delivering hardly any impressions.

Ad firm Velti studied the mobile advertising market of Apple and Android, comparing figures of May 2013 to findings from 2012. The share ofCupertinocompany grew by 5%, from 59% to 64%. Whereas Android decreased its presence on the market by 5% to 36%, despite its domination of smartphone shipments. The figures of dynamics are the same, but Android loss cannot be referred to by Apple’s increase in share.

German Court Struck Down Provisions In Apple’s Privacy Policy



According to Bloomberg, a German court has told Apple to change its privacy policy governing the use of customer data after ruling that 8 provisions in the policy go against German consumer protection laws.

The lawsuit has been filed by consumer group Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband, which raises concerns over Apple requesting 'global consent' for use of customer’s data.

Funny or Die released 'iSteve' teaser trailer



Last month, comedy site Funny or Die announced the future release of the 60-75 minute film iSteve, which is scheduled on April 15. It is based on events in the life of Steve Jobs. The movie stars Justin Long, who gained notoriety among fans of Apple for playing the role of "Mac" in the popular "get a Mac" advertising campaign, in the role of Jobs.

Nuance Releases ‘Voice Ads’ Platform To Bring Siri-like Functionality To Mobile Ads



Today Nuance announced a new mobile advertising platform called ‘Voice Ads’ to bring its Siri-like functionality into mobile advertising. The general concept of the new platform, which is available as an SDK for advertising companies, is to let users engage in a two-way, interactive conversation with a mobile ad and ask questions about the advertised product in a Siri-like manner.

Samsung is to open its stores in Best Buy



Apple has long been a partner of Best Buy at special departments "Apple Shop" in many retail stores of electronics, but a new report from Geek.com indicates that Apple shops will soon joined by similar Samsung stores, along with the upcoming Galaxy S4 that serves as an incentive for the first phase of shops rollouts.

In 2012 Samsung Outpaced Apple In Advertising Spending



The Wall Street Journal published a new report outlining Samsung’s aggressive advertising in 2012 based on the latest data from research company Kantar Media. The report notes that Samsung significantly increased its phone ad spending from $78M in 2011 to $401M in 2012, 20 percent higher than $333M spend by Apple.

FTC Recommends Mobile Platforms And App Devs Improve Privacy Disclosures



The Federal Trade Commission today published a report, where it recommends how key players in the mobile ecosystem can better inform their consumers about how their personal data is being used. In its report, the FTC named several companies, including Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Google and BlackBerry as well as advertising networks, app developers, app developer trade associations and analytics companies.
