As you know, Apple on Tuesday released a cheaper 8GB iPhone 5c model. However, it is currently available only in several countries, namely, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia and China. Many Existing and New Users May Upgrade to iPhone 6 - Analyst



A large number of existing iPhone users may upgrade to iPhone 6 because of its larger display, claims analyst Brian Marshall of ISI Group. Apart from that, Apple’s next-generation handset may lure new users - those people who previously used Android devices.

The analyst believes that the company from Cupertino will release two iPhone 6 models, one with 4.7-inch display and one with 5.5-inch display. Apple is expected to unveil both smartphones in the second half of 2014.

comScore MobiLens and Mobile Metrix has analized the data concerning the situation on the smartphone market in the USA for January 2014. It turns out that Apple is on the rise, constantly increasing it share, while Android is falling behind. Blackberry lost the third place to Windows Phone.

iOS and Android Dominate on World Smartphone Market



According to the latest estimates, iOS and Android accounted for as many as 95.7% of all smartphone shipments in Q4 2013. And this is a substantial increase, I believe, because in 2012 the two platforms had 91.2% share. 17.6% of shipments went to iOS and 78.1% - to Android.

Apple is PC and tablet market leader...again



A research firm Canalys has published a report which states that in Q4 2013 Apple remains the market leader of the combined PC and tablet market in shipments. Apple occupies 19.5% of the market by shipping 30.9 million Mac and iPad units. Lenovo is the market follower with 11.8% share. It has increased the result by 25.5% and jumped over HP to become second best.

42% of Smartphone Users in the USA Own iPhone



According to a research firm NDP, more than 40% of all smartphone users in the USA own an iPhone. This is a significant improvement from Q4 2012 figure, which was 35%. Samsung’s Android devices become more and more popular, so the South Korean manufacturer comes on its usual second place. As to the other companies, namely, Motorola, LG, HTC and Blackberry, their share on the market continues to drop.
