Apple not buying Sony, Facebook, Disney, AT&T, Google, Australia, etc.

apple

Recently quite controversial rumors appeared in the Internet. They claim that Apple is going to acquire Sony, and even Facebook. But the company probably isn’t buying Sony, Facebook, or Disney, or Google, AT&T and etc. Apple isn’t going to spend its huge money, because the company isn’t even interested in manufacturing, social networking, and studio plays. We may only suppose that these rumors probably started after Steve Jobs said Apple is saving their $51 billion bank account for making 1 or 2 strategic acquisitions in the future.

Emergency Facetime calls?

emergency-facetime

Some users are interested in a little button that is located in the lower right corner of the latest iPod touch screen. What can it be? Is it one of the Photoshop errors by Apple developers? Or are these the guidelines for Emergency calls while using VoIP? Here is one more Photoshop error (do you see the picture?)

Facebook: 44 mln users of iPhone app, not 104 mln

facebook-logo-cjr

Yesterday Facebook released some astonishing statistic results showing an astronomical number of monthly active users – over 100 million on iPhones, almost 60 million on BlackBerry and 12 million on the Android client. However, double-checking, these numbers seem a little bit strange: can there really be more than 100 million iPhone users, when by June 2010 only 100 million iOS devices had been sold, and this includes the iPod touch, iPad and iPhone? Turns out, the explanation is just in the definition of “active”. Here’s how a Facebook spokesman accounted for the figures:

iPhone Beats Android: Facebook statistics

facebook-logo-cjr

Facebook has released some statistics for its mobile application on different platforms, and the results are pretty interesting to look at. iPhone is right ahead with more than 104 mln active monthly users. BlackBerry goes second, with almost 60 mln, while Android is enjoying no more than 12 mln users. So, what do these numbers tell us? Last counted, there are more than 500 mln users of Facebook across the world, and it turns out that more than a third of them are using mobile applications. Quite an impressive figure!
