Apple to open a new R&D center in Taiwan
It is believed that Apple is in the process of recruiting members to construct a new research and development center in Taiwan. The center will specialize on production of next generation iPhone devices.
Sources close to Apple's internal communications claim that the team will be responsible for creating new products. It will be accounted to Apple's headquarters in California. The center will open soon after September, when the hiring begins.
Apple is currently recruiting the following positions in Taiwan: Hardware Development Engineers (areas of expertise: audio, camera, sensors, power, analog, touch, RF, antenna, battery), Panel Process & Optics Engineers, Product Development Engineers, Product Development Engineer, Mechanical Engineers – Product Displays, Materials Technical Program Managers, Test Engineers, Software QA, Reliability Engineers, Product Safety Engineer – PD, Firmware Engineers, Engineering Program Managers.

Bob Mansfield will be developing new products for Apple
It was reported earlier this week that Apple executive Bob Mansfield has given up his management duties at Apple. He is rumored to have focused on 'special projects', concerning development of new products for Cupertino company. So his responsibilities will be taken over by other executives.
Dan Riccio will be responsible for Apple's antenna design team. Moreover, he will still lead the department of Mac, iPhone, iPad and iPod engineering. Dan Riccio was promoted to lead Apple's hardware engineering teams when Bob Mansfield first retired last year.
Jeff Williams will acquire the job of managing Apple's special projects engineering teams. He is the Senior Vice President for Operations and has bee working with Tim Cook for years now. Though it is Mansfield who will focus on Apple's newest and most innovative designs. Thus he will not be distracted with management issues any longer.

Will iPad mini lack Retina displays?
It is rumored that Apple is testing a new iPad Mini with an A6 processor but without a Retina display. It is proved by a hidden file that lists all supported iOS 7 devices.
According to this information, Apple will be launching three new iPad mini models: iPad “2,8,” iPad “2,9,” and iPad “2,10.” The devices ill be called J75, J76, and J77 respectively. One of the three models will support only WiFi connection, while two others will be cellular-compatible. (just like the current iPad minis). The internal nomenclature for these iPads follows the current iPad minis, which are iPad “2,5,” iPad “2,6,” and iPad “2,7.”
The new iPad minis will boast a s5l8950x processor. It has the same A6 chip as current iPhone 5. It is a shame that the coming iPads minis will lack "@2x" hooks to higher resolution images. Thus it may be assumed that they will not have a Retina display.

Foxconn is emplying staff for Low-Cost iPhone and iPhone 5S
It is reported that Foxconn is employing staff to produce the requested amount of Apple's next generation iPhone (iPhone 5S) and the low cost budget iPhone (iPhone 5C).
Hon Hai Group, or Foxconn, is about to employ around 90,000 workers to improve the productivity of its Shenzhen facility. Before the plant reached 210,000 workers, with a peak of 300,000.
The additional employees will help with orders for Apple's iPhone 5S, the one boasting the rumored finger print scanner, upgraded processor, improved camera and more. The low cost iPhone is speculated to be the iPhone 5C will feature a plastic shell in multiple colors with comparable specs to the current iPhone 5.

Tim Cook is meeting China Telecom executives
According to ifeng.com, Apple CEO Tim Cook was seen in China having a meeting with executives from China Telecom. It also reports that Apple's CEO is to meet with representatives of China Unicom and China Mobile. It was a secret meeting with senior leadership, so the content of the meeting can only be speculated about.
It is believed that during the previous meetings the mostly discussed topic, whereas during this one the leaders are likely to have talked about co-generation iPhone and sales. Some people think that these negotiations mean that the new generation iPhone may be firstly listed in China through China Telecom.
It is the third time Tim Cook visited China, though his travel arrangements are not available to third party, it is believed that Apple's CEO will pay a visit to China Unicom and China Mobile executives meeting. The first two meetings of Tim Cook to China took place in early January 2013 and mid-March 2012.

Apple's Supplier - Pegatron - Violates Labor Rights
Apple’s supplier - Pegatron - is accused of 86 labor rights violations, China Labor Watch reports. The information about these infringements was collected by undercover investigators, who have been working on three Pegatron factories for a couple of months. They claim about underage workers employment, low wages, poor working conditions and other infringements.
Intel will supply Apple with processors for MacBook Pro
SemiAccurate says that Intel will become Apple's supplier of ultra-high performance version of its Haswell for the coming MacBook Pros. According to the report, the chips will boast a special version of Intel's highest-end GT3e (Iris Pro 5200) integrated graphics.
It was Apple that requested a special top bin cream-of-the-crop GT3e selection from Intel, with "as much GPU power as possible." Now when most of the top chips are bought by Apple, much less will remain for Intel's other customers.
