Tim Cook is 33rd world greatest leader

The Fortune published a list of World's 50 Greatest Leaders. Apple CEO Tim Cook occupies the 33rd place.

That's thinking different.

Apple's iPod Leads Portable Media Players Market

Although the market of portable media players is shrinking rapidly, the company from Cupertino with its iPod still remains the main manufacturer, AppleInsider reports. And I’m not surprised. About Tim Cook leadership style

Reuters has recently posted a profile on Apple CEO Tim Cook. His leadership style is described as methodical, no-nonsense, but very different from that of Steve Jobs.

The report says that Tim Cook is not organizing the bi-monthly iPhone software meeting so popular with Steve Jobs. The ex-CEO used the meetings to discuss each plan feature in iOS. "That's not Tim's style at all," said one person familiar with those meetings. "He delegates."

Larry Ellison speaks of Apple without Steve Jobs [Video]

Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle has recently given an interview to CBS's Charlie Rose. It is well known that Larry was a close friend of Steve Jobs, so the main topic of the dialog was what he believes Apple without Steve Jobs will look like.

“Well, we already know,” Ellison told Rose. “We saw we conducted the experiment. I mean, it’s been done. We saw Apple with Steve Jobs. We saw Apple without Steve Jobs. We saw Apple with Steve Jobs. Now, we’re gonna see Apple without Steve Jobs.”

The events Ellison is talking about refer to the year 1985 when Steve Jobs was sacked by the Apple board. The Californian company went through many difficulties and had t struggle for further development. Later,   Steve Jobs joined the company again CEO. As a result, such well-known products were launched as the iPod, iPhone and iPad, the ones that gave Apple world-wide recognition and generous revenues.

Nowadays, Apple is lead by Steve Jobs' hand picked successors - Tim Cook and the rest of the executive team (Jony Ive, Eddy Cue, etc). However,  Ellison guesses that the sad history of Apple without Steve Jobs may be repeated.

Steve Jobs сonsidered leaving Apple pro market

Ken Segall, author of Insanely Simple and the creative director of the Think Different ad campaign says that Steve Jobs considered killing Apple's professional line of products.

According to Segall, Apple is not supporting professional users. Mac Pro hasn't been updated in years as well as Aperture, the 17-inch MacBook Pro has been discontinued and the update Final Cut Pro did not leave up to user's expectations. Thus t seems that Apple will farewell the pro market one day.

I hope you’re sitting down for this, but Steve Jobs did in fact once consider that very option. This was back in the days when iMac had established itself as a global bestseller. During one of the agency’s regular meetings with Steve, he shared that he was considering killing the pro products. His rationale was as you might expect: consumer products have an unlimited upside, while pro products are aimed at a niche market that eats up major resources.
