Apple Releases Security Update for Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite Users





Apple on Monday released an important security update for Mac owners. According to what the guys from Cupertino say, this update contains a fix for the critical issue with Network Time Protocol service on OS X and is highly recommended for Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite users. Apple asks Mac and MacBook owners to “install this update as soon as possible”.

Russian Apple Online Store Is Back After Several Days of Outage, Prices Are 35% Higher



I have a piece of news for Russian customers: local Apple Online Store is currently back after being inactive for a couple of days due to noticeable currency exchange variations in the country. Apple has decided to shut down the website to adjust prices for its gadgets and accessories. As a result, the worth of hardware in the store is currently 35% higher than a week ago. Well, I must admit that the increase in prices is quite noticeable.

Flyover Is Now Available in New Cities in France, Sweden, Italy and Netherlands



According to what Dutch website iCulture and French Apple-related news portal iGen.fr write, the guys from Cupertino have recently updated their maps and added a Flyover feature to several new locations in Europe. Now the users of both iOS and Mac OS X can take advantage of using Flyover mode in such cities as Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Malmö in Sweden, Strasbourg and Dijon in France and Turin in Italy. Not bad, I must admit.

Apple Releases Third iOS 8.2 Beta to Developers for Testing



Apple on Thursday released the third iOS 8.2 beta to developers for testing. New firmware version can boast of a number of performance improvements and several important bugfixes. The release comes just one week after the release of the previous beta and about one month after the release of the first iOS 8.2 beta. Apart from seeding iOS 8.2, the guys from Cupertino also made Xcode 6.2 beta 3 with WatchKit available for developers.

Apple to Release iOS 8.1.3 Ahead of iOS 8.2 with Support of Apple Watch



According to the latest reports from people familiar with the matter, the guys from Cupertino have recently begun testing iOS 8.1.3 actively, which indicates that ahead of the public release of iOS 8.2 with the support of the long-awaited Apple Watch early next year, we may actually see one more iOS version containing stability improvements and bug fixes.

New TaiG Jailbreak Released with Support of iOS 8.1.2



As you probably know, Apple on Tuesday released iOS 8.1.2, which contained a fix for the issue causing the ringtones purchased on the iTunes Store to disappear from your device. Immediately after the release, users began to wonder if the latest version of the mobile operating system was jailbreakable.

As it turned out, the guys from Cupertino haven’t patched the vulnerability, which was used to hack the previous versions of iOS using TaiG jailbreak. That is why less than in a day after the release of iOS 8.1.2, the hackers released an updated tool for untethered jailbreak of the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system called TaiG 1.2.0. And that is surely a piece of good news for all those, who use jailbroken iPhones and iPads.

Untethered Jailbreak of iOS 8.1.1 and iOS 8.2 Beta Released



An untethered jailbreak of iOS 8.1.1 and iOS 8.2 beta firmwares has just been released by TaiG. It also works for iOS 8.0 and iOS 8.1.

MuscleNerd confirmed the jailbreak over Twitter; however, he warns that you should probably wait a couple days before attempting.

Looks like TaiG just released a jailbreak for 8.1.1 (and 8.0,8.1,8.2beta). Best to wait a few days just in case

TaiG was part of the controversial iOS 7 jailbreak from the Evad3rs. The jaibreak included the TaiG 'app store' for cracked apps by default in China. Following an outcry from the community the evad3rs responded by updating their jailbreak tool to remove TaiG.

As you already know, Apple is an active member of the (Product) RED initiative, which raises money for fighting AIDS. Every year, the guys from Cupertino create a special (Product) RED lineup of devices and apps, sell them and give all the money they get to a special charity fund.
