Apple to Announce Q2 2014 Earnings on April 23





According to an announcement on Apple’s official website, the company will officially report its financial results in Q2 of 2014 on April 23rd. Over the past months, Apple has neither launched new products, nor released new software. Well, I’m not taking into consideration minor iOS and OS X updates, the release of an 8GB iPhone 5c and updated iPad 4 in several countries. I don’t think these events are crucial for the company.

Apple Announces New TD-LTE Capable iPads in China



The company from Cupertino has officially announced TD-LTE capable iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display in China. This means that the customers in this country can now use high-speed LTE networks to access the Internet from their iPads. Well, after they purchase the compatible device, of course.

The evad3rs on Friday released an updated evasi0n7 jailbreak utility. It is still impossible to jailbreak iPhone 5, 5c and 5s running iOS 7.1, however, evasi0n7 1.0.8 brings support for iOS 7.0 build 11A466.

How Apple Demolished Former HP Office Buildings - Video

iOS 7 Adoption Rate Reaches 85% - Apple



According to the updated figures that can be found on the App Store Distribution section, iOS 7 adoption rate reached 85%. This means that nearly 90% of the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users have upgraded to the latest iOS version.

In case you don’t know, Apple released iOS 7 on September 18th, 2013. On December 6th, about 74% of the devices were running iOS 7 and on January 27th, 2014 - nearly 80%.

Pegatron and Foxconn to Start Production of Next-Gen iPhones and iPad Airs in Q2 or Q3



According to the latest rumors, the production of the next-gen iPhone and iPad Air will start in the second or in the third quarter of 2014. Pegatron will be responsible for assembly of both iPhones and iPads, while Foxconn will concentrate primarily on Apple’s smartphone. This is what several Chinese sources report (via iDownloadBlog).

12-Inch MacBook to Be Released Soon - Rumor



Back in October, a normally reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities claimed that Apple will release a new 12-inch MacBook with a display resolution of 2732 x 1536 pixels in 2014. Looks like he was right. According to a new report that appeared on the Internet yesterday, the company from Cupertino is indeed working on a new MacBook Air. As to the MacBook Pro, there won’t be any updated model until September.

The problem has been reported by iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s owners, that is why you’d better not update to the latest iOS version if you often use this iOS feature.

Apple Officially Releases Cheaper 8GB iPhone 5c in the UK



Apple on Tuesday released a cheaper iPhone 5c model with 8GB of memory on board. The UK carrier O2 was the first to offer the updated handset via its online store. The prices for iPhone 5c, as you may see at the link above, range from free to £409.99 (this is about $680).

iOS 7.1 vs 7.0.6 battery life test



ArsTechnica has developed a chart that shows us the influence iOS 7.1 has on the battery life of your device.

During this Wi-Fi browsing test the battery life of different devices on iOS 7.1 was compared with the one working on iOS 7.0.6. The finding showed that most of the scores differed within a few percent so can be accounted for by an error.

Apple Releases Second OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 Beta to Developers



Apple on Thursday seeded the second OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 beta to registered developers for testing. The release comes just a week after the company from Cupertino unveiled the first OS X 10.9.3 beta. This version included a number of important bug fixes as well as improved 4K display compatibility for Macs.
