In the legal fight between Apple and Samsung, Best Buy told that it was processing Galaxy Tab returns from unhappy customers who thought they were getting an iPad. To prove its words, Best Buy submitted to the court the emails, internal memos and other evidence documents.
Apple to Buy Mobile Security Company AuthenTec for $356 Million
Reuters reports that Apple has reportedly reached a deal to purchase AuthenTec, a security company best known for creating fingerprint sensors, for $356 million. The acquisition agreement was approved with unanimous consent by AuthenTec's board this week, according to Bezinga. The deal is not yet finalized because it requires approval from the majority of outstanding shares of the company's common stock, among other final steps.

iPad's Share of Tablet Market Hits 68% in 2Q 2012
Apple announced that 17 million iPads were sold during the second calendar quarter of 2012. A research firm Strategy Analytics claims that Apple captured 68.3% of the global tablet market comparing with 62% in the year-ago quarter. That is the company's highest share in nearly two years.

Tweaked iPad and New 'iPad Mini' Closely Follow iPhone 5 Launch
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo offered more predictions about Apple's iOS device plans for the September-October timeframe. He suggests that Apple may launch the next-generation iPhone in September.
iPhone 5 to debut in September. But due to in-cell touch panel and casing yield rate limits, ability to offset older models' shipments decrease will be moderate.
Smaller iPad Costing "Significantly Less" Than $499 Coming This Fall, According to NYT
The New York Times sources confirmed previous rumors about launch of the iPad mini that would cost "significantly less than the latest $499 iPad" when it debuts later this year.
According to analysts and executives in the technology industry, the smaller iPad is part of an Apple strategy to garner and retain a larger marketshare by introducing a variety of tablet sizes. The publication notes the Cupertino-based company used a similar model with the iPod line which now ranges from the iPod shuffle to the iPod classic.
Android and iOS represent over 90% of smartphone market in the U.S.
iPad Mini will probably cost $299
Piper Jaffray, analyst Gene Munster, believes iPad Mini will cost $299 and Apple could sell somewhere between 4-6 million iPad minis this year.

Apple Wins Preliminary Injunction Against U.S. Sales of Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Just several days after Apple won a preliminary injunction prohibiting U.S. sales of Galaxy Tab tablet, news agency Reuters
"Apple has made a clear showing that, in the absence of a preliminary injunction, it is likely to lose substantial market share in the smartphone market and to lose substantial downstream sales of future smartphone purchases and tag-along products".
The new injunction is much more important victory for Apple than the injunction against Galaxy Tab sales, as evidenced by the bond in the amount of $95 million that Apple posted in order for decision to come into effect. The bond money would be paid to Samsung should the injunction be overturned by the court later.
Google Search Vs Siri In 1600-queries Test
Gene Munster, analyst from Piper Jaffray, today published a research note containing the results of Google search vs. Siri 1600-question test. In the study, both Siri and Google were presented with 800 queries in each of two different environments, a busy street and a quiet room. This is not exactly a comparison of how well two services stack up against each other, because queries for Google search were typed in, but the results allow to find out what potential Siri has as an everyday search service and alternative to Google search.

1. Apple added a toggle to control whether or not you can use iOS 6′s new Shared Photo Streams feature. The toggle is in both the Photos settings page and the iCloud settings.

iPhone 5 will put Samsung's Galaxy S III to shame, says Foxconn CEO
Chief Executive Officer Terry Gou of Foxconn told its stockholders during the annual meeting on Monday to disregard Samsung's recently-released Galaxy S III smartphone and wait for the upcoming iPhone 5 instead, mentioning a number of strategies that will allow the company to "beat" Samsung within the next three to five years.
Foxconn may buy more Sharp shares, fueling Apple television rumors
Foxconn Chairman Terry Gou revealed at his company's annual meeting on Monday that the company is now in talks with Sharp to buy more their shares. Foxconn is Apple's primary manufacturing partner, responsible for assembling devices like the iPhone, iPad and Macs. And Sharp is already a major display supplier for Apple, including Retina displays for the new iPad. That is why it’s not surprisingly that these rumors once again revive speculation that their alliance could play a key role in Apple's rumored television set.
