Apple Releases Fourth OS X 10.9.2 Mavericks Beta to Developers





Apple on Thursday seeded the fourth OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 beta to developers. What is interesting is that this release comes just a week after the third OS X beta. Looks like the guys from Cupertino plan to finalize the new version of the operating system for Macs as soon as possible. Well, that good, I guess.

Apple Files Patent Application for Pressure-Sensitive Touch Screen



The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday published another Apple’s patent filing that describes a pressure-sensitive touch screen for iPhone or iPad. The company from Cupertino suggests to use several sensors to detect the level of pressure user applies to the display. Such sensors can be used as a secondary mode of input.

Apple Officially Releases iOS 7.0.5



Apple has just released iOS 7.0.5 to users worldwide. This is a minor update that contains only bugfixes - no serious improvements, tweaks or stuff like that. This update is said to be helpful for those Chinese iPhone 5s and iPhone 5C owners who have problems with network.

80% of Apple Devices are Currently Using iOS 7



According to the recently updated App Store support page for developers, iOS 7 is now running on at least 80% of smartphones and tablets, which have access to the App Store. What that means is that the seventh version of the Apple’s mobile operating system shows the highest level of adoption, even though at first many users refused to upgrade to it saying the new design was ugly and inconvenient.

Tim Cook Confirmed Apple's Plans to Create Mobile Payment Service



Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that the company from Cupertino is planning to start working on a mobile payment service, but this is not the most important issue at the moment. The idea of developing Apple’s own payment service first appeared before the Touch ID introduction, Cook added.

iOS and Mac OS X Won't Merge into One Operating System



Despite the rumors claiming iOS and Mac OS X will merge in near future, Apple executives say they won’t. Even more, Phil Schiller, Craig Federighi and Bud Tribble have recently assured the reporters that OS X 10.10 will prove that the company from Cupertino is planning to develop both systems, without giving preference to one or another.

MegaFon Signs a Deal with Apple to Sell iPhones in Russia



According to the latest rumors, one of the Russia’s largest carriers, MegaFon, has signed a three-year contract with Apple. What that means is that MegaFon will soon start selling iPhones in its retail stores all over the country making the handsets available for as many as 143 million people.

Apple has released OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 beta 3 to developers for testing. As to the improvements, this version looks pretty much the same as the one released about a week ago. Apple asks developers to focus on SMB2, Mail, Messages, Graphics Drivers, VoiceOver, and VPN.

iPhone 5s Users Seem to be ‘Hungriest’ Data Consumers



According to the study that was recently conducted by a research firm JDSU, iPhone 5s users seem to be the ‘hungriest’ data consumers if compared to owners of nearly 150 other devices in both developed and developing markets across the world. This is a huge improvement, especially if to compare the amount of data downloaded by iPhone 5, 5s and 5c owners to the results of iPhone 3G several years ago.

Apple Releases iOS 7.1 Beta 4 to Developers



Apple released iOS 7.1 beta 4 to developers on Tuesday. The new iOS version contains a number of performance improvements and a fix for the message sending issue. As to the other notable enhancements, these are only ‘slide to unlock’ and ‘slide to power off’ texts, which seem to be tweaked a bit.
