Nokia Releases Lumia 2520 Ad - Video



Nokia has released a new ad for its most recent tablet running Windows 8 - Lumia 2520. To be honest, the gadget looks pretty much the same as Windows Surface, but, unlike the Microsoft’s creation, features a separate physical keyboard equipped with a powerful battery that lets the tablet work for as many as 16 hours on a single charge. Impressive, don’t you think so?

Product (RED) Mac Pro Sold for Nearly $1 Million



Product (RED) Mac Pro, designed by Jony Ive and Marc Newson, was sold on Saturday for $977,000. The device, which was at first expected to be purchased for about $40,000-60,000, surprisingly became the most expensive personal computer ever created. The charity Sotheby's auction aimed at raising money for The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Apple Wins Another Court Case Against Samsung



Samsung will pay Apple for copying some of the iPhone key features and design elements. For those who don’t remember - last year the South Korean company was found guilty of violating several Apple patents. The sum Samsung was ordered to pay Apple last year was $1.05 billion.

Apple Gets Final Approval for New Campus from Cupertino City Council



After long years of announcements, presentations and various meetings, it finally became clear - Apple will build a new campus. The company from Cupertino on Tuesday received final approval for its project from Cupertino City Council. What that means is that Apple can now officially start construction of the new headquarters.

New FCC Chairman Plans to Make Phone Unlocking Legal Before December Holiday Season



Tom Wheeler, the new FCC Chairman, has recently asked CTIA (The Wireless Association) to make phone unlocking legal as soon as possible - before the December holidays. In the letter he has sent to CTIA he says that if this request is not fulfilled in time, FCC will regulate the unlocking process itself.

Apple to Use iBeacon in Retail Stores to Assist with Sales



The company from Cupertino will start using iBeacon technology in the Apple Retail Stores across the USA to assist with sales and various services. For those who don’t know, iBeacon is a kind of indoor positioning system based on Bluetooth. It consists of transmitters that are capable of detecting nearby iOS 7 devices and notifying of their presence.

According to the latest rumors, Apple acquires an Israeli firm called PrimeSense. The negotiations that started in July now seem to be nearly over - there’s only one legal issue left to be solved. As to the price of acquisition, it is approximately $345 million.
