Another Apple Supplier Accused of Violating Workers’ Rights.





Another Apple supplier has been recently accused of violating workers’ rights. The company called Biel Crystal Manufactory, which produces interior parts for Apple, Samsung and HTC devices is said to be forcing people within its Chinese factories to work overtime.

More Workers Assemble iPhone 5s - Foxconn



Foxconn has been reportedly adding new workers to iPhone 5s assembly lines in order to catch up with the demand on this device. Earlier this month, the company from Cupertino decided to cut down the production of plastic iPhone 5c. As we can see now, this was the right decision as the number of iPhone 5s units available for purchase has grown dramatically since that time.

Quanta Computer to Produce Larger-Sized iPad?



According to the latest Digitimes report, Apple has signed a deal with Quanta Computer to produce larger-sized iPad. The Taiwanese-based company is said to start the production of the 12.9-inch iPad in the second half of 2014. There’re also rumors that deal with iWatch, however, I don’t know whether we can trust these rumors or not.

Apple Continues to Cut Production of Plastic iPhone 5c



According to the latest report published on a Chinese site C Technology (via MacRumors), Apple continues to cut the production of the plastic iPhone 5c. As you probably know, the new colorful gadget turned out to be a failure for the company from Cupertino - its sales are poor not only in the USA, but also all over the world. Interesting fact: while Apple is experiencing iPhone 5s supply constraints, iPhone 5c can be purchased and picked up from almost any store worldwide at any time.

Apple to Certify Two New iPhone and iPad Suppliers Soon



The company from Cupertino will certify two new Asian factories to help in manufacture of the iPhone 5c and iPad mini soon. The reason for such a decision is growing demand for the devices. Current Apple’s suppliers - Foxconn and Pegatron - can’t cope with the production load.

Foxconn Testing a New Large-Screen iPad - Rumor



According to Chinese sources, Foxconn is now testing a brand new iPad with an enormous screen. Whether this information is legitimate or not is still unclear, however, insiders claim that such a device may be actually unveiled next year. Well, if to speak about me, I don’t think Apple will release the larger iPad soon. But who knows, anything may happen.

Apple is working large 13" iPad [Photos]



New rumors from the Chinese United Daily News claims that Apple is working with Quanta on a larger iPad. Macrumors report:

Quanta Computer is an Apple supplier responsible for Apple’s current MacBook Airs and an unusual choice for tablet production as those devices are currently produced by suppliers like Foxconn and Pegatron. The report claims, however, that Quanta is aiming to diversify.

This summer WSJ reported that Apple was asking to see prototypes of an iPad measuring slightly less than 13-inches diagonally.

China Mobile Will Carry the Lower Cost iPhone 5C?



The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple will ship its lower cost iPhone 5C to China Mobile. And this seems to be possible since Apple’s CEO Tim Cook visited China in July to have a talk with the carrier’s executives about the partnership.

Foxconn profits raise by 41% due to high iPhone sales



According to The Wall Street Journal, Hon Hai Precision Industry Company, widely recognized as  Foxconn, has experienced an abrupt upsurge of 41% of the second quarter profits. Foxconn is Apple's leading iPhone and iPad assembler, and the increase in revenue is accounte to by high iPhone sales rates.

The report notes that 40% of Foxconn's profits come from Apple.  In the second quarter of 2013 the figure of net profit of Hon Hai Precision Industry reached the top point of NT$16.98 billion (USD $566.7 Million) as compared NT$12.06 billion (USD $402 million) from the same period in 2012.

Pegatron revenue upsurges thanks to iPhone production



According to Reuters, Apple supplier Pegatron is likely to enjoy a 50 percent increase in Q3 revenue.  The supplier reaches the figure despite the stable decline of its PC business continuing. The sector responsible for the revenue upsuge is the iPhone. The following announcement was made by Pegatron after the company did not live up o analyst's expectations concerning revenue in Q2.

“We expect revenue in the non-computing segment to grow by 40 to 50 percent in Q3 due to new consumer products. Q4 will also be higher,” said company CEO and President Jason Cheng in an investor conference.

Pegatron is most likely to be responsible for production of the low-budget iPhone 5C – the plastic iPhone. Moreover, Digitimes rumored that it may turn to be the second iPhone 5S supplier, although Foxconn is responsible for the major production. Both handsets are expected to be announced by Apple on 10th September.

UniMicron and Foxconn Dump Toxic Waste into Rivers?



Apple suppliers - UniMicron and Foxconn - are accused of dumping toxic waste into nearby rivers, The Wall Street Journal reports. Taking into account numerous accusations and suspicions of local environmental groups, Chinese government decided to begin the investigation of the incident.

Foxconn is emplying staff for Low-Cost iPhone and iPhone 5S



It is reported that Foxconn is employing staff to produce the requested amount of Apple's next generation iPhone (iPhone 5S) and the low cost budget iPhone (iPhone 5C).

Hon Hai Group, or Foxconn, is about to employ around 90,000 workers to improve the  productivity of its Shenzhen facility. Before the plant reached 210,000 workers, with a peak of 300,000.

The additional employees will help with orders for Apple's iPhone 5S, the one boasting the rumored finger print scanner, upgraded processor, improved camera and more. The low cost iPhone is speculated to be the iPhone 5C will feature a plastic shell in multiple colors with comparable specs to the current iPhone 5.

Apple's Supplier - Pegatron - Violates Labor Rights



Apple’s supplier - Pegatron - is accused of 86 labor rights violations, China Labor Watch reports. The information about these infringements was collected by undercover investigators, who have been working on three Pegatron factories for a couple of months. They claim about underage workers employment, low wages, poor working conditions and other infringements.

Apple's Looking for New Suppliers



AppleInsider reports that according to KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo Apple’s currently looking for new suppliers. And there’re three main candidates, namely Taiwan's Compal Communications, Wistron and Inventec Appliances. The first company once worked for Nokia, Sony and Lenovo; the second one is a BlackBerry supplier and as to the third firm - it is currently working on Apple’s iPod.
