A hacker group called Pangu has just released an untethered jailbreak of iOS 9.1. It’s available for both Windows and Mac users. As you know, iOS 9.1 was released in October, so it’s actually high time someone hacked this version of Apple’s mobile operating system.

6,500 Users Have Downloaded Virus from Transmission



As it was reported yesterday, a new ransomware virus has recently infected Mac computers. In case you missed our previous article, it was spread through the program called Transmission. Those who downloaded the infected installer, ended up having a virus blocking access to the sensitive data on their machines.

New Vulnerability Affects Third-Party Mac Apps



As noted by a bunch of reliable news websites, a wide number of third-party Mac apps are vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks. The vulnerability in Sparkle, an open source framework, which is used by many developers to make the update process easier, can let hackers execute malicious JavaScript code when the infected app or apps perform checks for updates. According to security researchers, uTorrent and a ‘huge’ number of other applications that are available outside the App Store are prone to the aforementioned vulnerability.

Hackers Offer Apple Employees Thousands of Euros for Their Login Details



According to the latest report from BusinessInsider, hackers are offering Apple employees in Ireland huge sums of money for their Apple ID credentials. One of the employees, who asked not to be publicly identified revealed that he was offered thousands of euros for his Apple ID email address and password. Moreover, looks like he’s not alone.

Developer Demonstrates Untethered Jailbreak of iOS 9.2, 9.2.1 and 9.3 Beta [Video]



A well-known iOS developer Luca Todesco has successfully jailbroken several versions of Apple’s iOS. As can be seen in the video below, Todesco hacked the iPhone running iOS 9.2.1 and iOS 9.3 Beta. Earlier this year, Todesco shared a screenshot proving the jailbreak of iOS 9.2.1 was already ready.

Fake 13-inch Skylake Retina MacBook Pro Benchmark Results Surface Online



Two interesting benchmark results were spotted on Geekbench 3 on January 14th. These results demonstrate the performance level of the upcoming 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro with a new Skylake processor inside. However, it is not entirely clear whether we indeed deal with the results of the yet unannounced MacBook Pro or an unknown device known as Hackintosh. In case you don’t know, Hackintosh is a non-Apple computer with OS X on board.

iOS 9.2.1 Beta Has Been Successfully Jailbroken



It’s been a long time since we heard anything about the jailbreak of iOS 9. This week, however, a developer named Luca Todesco has successfully jailbroken iOS 9.2.1 on his iPhone 6. As a proof, the hacker posted a screenshot showing Cydia running on his phone to Twitter.
