New pictures have appeared on iLounge of a new iPod Shuffle being unpacked.
Griffin Wristlet's Protective Case for iPod Nano
The latest iPod nano from Apple is rather cute, but it still risks getting lost in your pocket/purse. A built-in clip is a good way to fix it on something, but Griffin is planning to go much further, offering Wristlet casing, which is a protective case in the form of a bracelet for the iPod nano. Its functionality is self-evident, as it protects your iPod nano from scratches. Griffin Wristlet will be priced at $ 19.99 and now is available for pre-orders.

Apple's Special Event - What Can We Expect?
Apple’s Special Event kicks off tomorrow, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. This annual media event usually focuses on the iPod line, but recent rumors suggest that there might be other topics covered as well. Let’s see a brief summary of what we might expect tomorrow.
New Leaked Images of iPod Nano Cases
Apple’s Special Event is just 2 days away, and fresh iPod rumors appear each day. Late last week there was a leak of information about a smaller iPod nano. Now there are more images from Asian websites showing screen protectors and additional cases, supposedly for a next-generation iPod nano as well.
One of the images is detailed enough, so we can try to establish some of the main features of the forthcoming device. In the edge of case there is a long slot that is certainly meant for Apple’s dock-connector, expected in the new iPod nano. The opposite edge is occupied by an elongated hole – most probably the slot for the on/off buton or the hold switch, like we can see on the already-existing iPod models.
iWatch to Appear Next Week?
Every day we continue receiving new messages about the iPod nano with 1.8 inch screen. Some users even think that Apple is planning to release a new wrist watch called iWatch. Although it does not mean that if it releases the device, all children will wear it on their wrists. The most interesting is that some users already wear their iPod nano on their wrists!
We suppose that the new device may sport FM radio or even a camera, though unlikely. It will be priced at $ 100 or less. Can we really wait for it next week?
New Shape for iPod Touch 4G?
The iPod touch 4G is most probably going to change its shape. The back of the device will be neither flat glass, like for the iPhone 4, nor is it going to be a curved surface, like a dome.
The anonymous source claims that the shape is going to be
Familiar. Think of the top of a MacBook Pro, only smaller, which is to say flat rather than curved at the center—closer to the look of the first-generation iPod touch’s back, only with modifications. The rear camera is there, but there is still some question as to whether what’s next to it will be a LED flash like the one in the iPhone 4, or a microphone like the one next to the video camera of the iPod nano. We’ve been told to expect a microphone rather than a flash, with a continuation of the bottom-mounted headphone port and Dock Connector port.
The new iPod touch is going to be announced at the Special Event on September 1st.

New Design for iPod nano?
As stated previously, case images for the upcoming iPod nano have leaked on the Internet, and they show that it is going to be a very small square device with a touchscreen.
The cases for the next generation of iPod touch and iPod nano models were manufactured by a Chinese company X-Doria, and the images were obtained from a Chinese website.
iPod Nano/Shuffle to Get New Cases?
iLounge states that the Chinese website has new cases for iPod touch and iPod Shuffle. We have already seen retina cases for iPod touch with a hole for the camera, but it seems that new cases for iPod Shuffle/Nano show us that they are ideal for 1.8-inch screen devices by Apple.
According to iLounge, 1.8-inch screen will be touchscreen and on its sides or back panel we can find control buttons.
A Great Discount for UK iPod Nano
Taking into account the rumors about iPods from Apple, some people all over the world have found out that in UK there are many retailers who decided to slash their prices for the iPod nano and iPod shuffle by nearly 40%! The result of this action is that these media players have been already in various places, speculating that Apple is going to introduce a new version of the iPod nano and iPod shuffle very soon. Some guys are even thinking that the new iPod shuffle will feature a miniature touchscreen. It’s quite interesting till the device price haven’t yet risen to the stars.
Concerns about the First Generation iPod Nano Battery in Japan
According to the Reuters news agency, one of the Japanese authorities demanded from Apple to provide customers with the information about obtaining spare batteries for the first generation IPod Nano with respect to the fire hazard from the superheated batteries.
The authorities requested Apple to issue on the Internet an easy-to-understand statement to explain how the users of the device involved in four cases of minor burns in Japan will be able to receive spare batteries and appropriate consultations.
The Japanese authorities began to put pressure on Apple on this issue last week but the company referred to the fact that the matter had been transferred to the supplier of batteries. The company said that safety would be considered as their top priority.
New lawsuit: Apple falsely marked its products
Last week organization Americans for Fair Patent Use filed a lawsuit in a U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Texas. Apple, Samsung Telecommunications America, Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel Corp. are named as the defendants. The lawsuit says that these companies produce and/or sell falsely marked products with a patents that are expired or do not cover these marked products, with a purpose "to deceive the public about the patent coverage for their products."
