Apple Releases New Pre-Release Builds of OS X, iOS, watchOS and tvOS to Developers

iPhone 7 Plus to Feature Dual-Lens Camera System?



As noted by usually-reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus may feature a dual-lens camera developed most likely by LinX, a small firm from Israel purchased by Apple last year. The 4.7-inch model, however, won’t get an improved camera system, the analyst believes. I must admit, this is quite a risky step that may impact the sales of the smaller model.

Apple Maps Are Now Used 3 Times More Often than Google Maps on iPhone and iPad



According to the latest data from Apple shared by Boston Globe, iPhone and iPad owners are now using the built-in Apple Maps app three times more often than its closest competitor, which is Google Maps. Each week the mapping service gets 5 billion map-related requests from all over the world.

Developer Finds Hidden ‘Indoor GPS’ App on App Store



Looks like Apple has a bunch of hidden applications on the App Store. One of such apps has been recently discovered by a software developer named Steve Stroughton-Smith. It is called Indoor Survey and as it can be easily guessed from its name, it serves for indoor positioning. People familiar with the matter claim that it can be used to mark certain locations inside of various buildings, for example, stores, restaurants etc.

Apple Releases iOS 9 with New Features to Users Worldwide



Just as we expected, Apple on Wednesday released iOS 9 to public worldwide. If you have a compatible iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, the update should be available in the Settings app under General - Software Update or once you connect your device to iTunes. It should be noted, however, that Apple servers are currently overloaded, so if you don’t see any available updates, you should wait for a while.

Strange Apple Vehicle Spotted in California



A strange car with a complicated system of cameras on the roof has been recently spotted in Concord, CA. How is this car connected with Apple? Well, reporters and analysts claim the vehicle is either a mapping car similar to those Google uses to improve its maps and develop the Street View feature, or a self-driving car from the future. Flyover Is Now Available in New Cities in France, Sweden, Italy and Netherlands



According to what Dutch website iCulture and French Apple-related news portal iGen.fr write, the guys from Cupertino have recently updated their maps and added a Flyover feature to several new locations in Europe. Now the users of both iOS and Mac OS X can take advantage of using Flyover mode in such cities as Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Malmö in Sweden, Strasbourg and Dijon in France and Turin in Italy. Not bad, I must admit.

Apple on Friday released an update to its Maps app for both OS X and iOS. This update brought the Flyover feature to nine new cities and monuments in the USA and Europe. Moreover, the guys from Cupertino added one noticeable new feature to their virtual assistant called Siri, which now supports international movie times.

Apple Releases iOS 8.1.1 with Stability Improvements and Bug Fixes



Apple has just released iOS 8.1.1 to users worldwide. The public release comes two weeks after the release of the beta version that contained a wide number of bug fixes, but lacked new functionality. Looks like this is another minor update aimed at making the mobile operating system more stable. What is also interesting about iOS 8.1.1 is that it reportedly kills Pangu untethered jailbreak, so if you want to keep your device jailbroken, stay away from this software update.
