New TaiG Jailbreak Released with Support of iOS 8.1.2
As you probably know, Apple on Tuesday released iOS 8.1.2, which contained a fix for the issue causing the ringtones purchased on the iTunes Store to disappear from your device. Immediately after the release, users began to wonder if the latest version of the mobile operating system was jailbreakable.
As it turned out, the guys from Cupertino haven’t patched the vulnerability, which was used to hack the previous versions of iOS using TaiG jailbreak. That is why less than in a day after the release of iOS 8.1.2, the hackers released an updated tool for untethered jailbreak of the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system called TaiG 1.2.0. And that is surely a piece of good news for all those, who use jailbroken iPhones and iPads.

Ryan Petrich Teases New Activator Beta
A developer named Ryan Petrich has recently teased a new version of Activator. It is a beta version and it can boast of some new battery percentage actions.
The new feature allows you to set the so-called triggers for certain battery level. For example, your iPhone can play a ringtone each time it reaches a certain battery level. This is very convenient, I must admit.

HowTo: create iPhone ringtones in iTunes 10
CNet specialists will show and explain us how to create custom ringtones in iTunes 10. Watch the video:
Apple Removes Custom Ringtone Creation in iTunes 10
iTunes 10 appears to be lacking the ability to create ringtones from songs purchased from the iTunes Store. The feature had allowed users to select iTunes-purchased songs from their libraries, trim them down to desired ringtone lengths, and purchase the resulting custom ringtones for $0.99 each.
After looking around in the application, it seems that ringtone creation has been pulled from iTunes 10. We checked iTunes and were met with only information on how to sync ringtones from iTunes. A support document outlining the process for creating a custom ringtone in iTunes is still posted on Apple's site despite the fact that the feature no longer exists in the updated iTunes.
Custom ringtone creation was added to iTunes in September 2007.
iTunes now has 26,7% on US music market
Recently Billboard published a report that reveals new information on Apple's share on music sales market. When the first generation iPhone was presented, iTunes had only 12,7% of American music market. In 2008 Apple almost doubled it and made 21,4%. 2009 reveals five percentage points increase - now iTunes has 26,7% of music sales.
Such mobile providers as AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon Wireless on the contrary lose their positions, downing from 6,6% to 4,9% in 2009. Partly it is explained by lower priced ringtones in iTunes and its free tools for making custom ringtones. Both of these factors eventually attracted more people.
Physical media music in turn loses its popularity from year to year. Numbers reveal its share fell from 57,5% in 2008 to 49,3% in 2009. That means that iTunes actually makes a half of all digital music downloads overall.
iTunes' closest rival Amazon also increased its sales. But in digital MP3 sales the company's share grew from 0,8% in 2008 to 1,3% in 2009, which is not even close to Apple's 26,7% share. Such results, according to Billboard, were "still well short of where major labels had hoped Amazon's download store would be by now, dimming earlier expectations that it will be able to significantly reduce the labels' heavy dependence on iTunes for digital sales."
It is interesting to look forward for Google which recently acquired Simplify Media to expectedly turn it into iTunes rival for Android users. But for now the company's subsidiary AdMob reveals the amount of media bought or even downloaded by Android users is still so small that it cannot be compared with iTunes success.
