Images Show New 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Leaked Parts





Today a new report appeared online that suggests that the next-generation 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will be nicknamed as the iPhone 6L. Apart from this interesting piece of information, several new images surfaced online that show us a bunch of leaked parts for Apple’s smartphone. These parts include a larger battery (I mentioned it in the previous post), a logic board and, of course, a front panel.

High-End iPhone 6 Models Will Get Sapphire Displays - WSJ



According to the latest reports from the Wall Street Journal, only high-end models of iPhone 6 will get sapphire-covered displays. The screens for other devices will be made of material that is much stronger than Gorilla Glass, but isn’t actually sapphire, sources claim. It should be noted that the reporters’ suggestions haven’t yet been confirmed, which means that all of the handsets may get displays made of protective material other than sapphire.

According to the latest report from DigiTimes, Apple's Asian supplier Pegatron has recently won a contract for the production of 25 million 4.7-inch iPhone 6 units of the 50 million that are expected to be shipped this year.

New 4.7-inch iPhone 6 Front Panel and Display Assembly Images from Feld & Volk



To be honest, I have already got tired of writing about the leaked parts for the next-generation iPhone. Nevertheless, I have to tell you that today several new images appeared online that show us the front panel and a display assembly for the 4.7-inch handset. We can also take a look at new Power and Mute buttons. The photos were shared by a firm called Feld & Volk and I must admit that they look legitimate.

iPhone 6 Enters Final Testing Stage - Rumor



According to what Chinese insiders write, Apple’s iPhone 6 has entered a final product testing stage ahead of the start of the mass-production. Today’s report contradicts the report, which appeared on the Internet last month and which suggested that the next-generation handset had already entered mass-production. Looks like the guys from Cupertino encountered some manufacturing issues that prevented them from beginning the assembling process in time.

Apple Refuses to Fix MacBook Pro GPU Issues



According to the latest reports from people familiar with the matter, the guys from Cupertino aren’t currently planning to launch a replacement program for the early-2011 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro models, which have problems with GPUs that cause constant system crashes and graphics failures. Even though Apple employees are aware of the problem, they still offer no refunds or discounts on repairs of the affected computers.

New iPads to Enter Mass-Production Very Soon?



According to the latest report from Bloomberg, the production of Apple's next-generation iPads will start literally within few days. The suppliers are reportedly gearing up to begin assembling the 9.7-inch iPad Air 2 and the 7.9-inch iPad mini with Retina display. Today's news about the start of manufacture of the tablets go in line with the previous rumors.

Microsoft Releases New Surface Pro Ads, Mocks MacBook Air [Video]



Microsoft has recently released three new Surface Pro 3 ads. As usual, the ads mock Apple and the gadgets the guys from Cupertino create.

This time Microsoft chose Apple's MacBook Air as a victim. The company from Redmond claims its newest tablet is more efficient and portable than the laptop manufactured by Apple. Of course, Microsoft fails to mention that the sales of the Surface tablets are weak and that the company lost nearly 1.7 billion dollars since the launch of its first-gen version. iPhone 6 to Feature Faster Processor, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, NFC Support and More



According to the latest rumors, Apple's iPhone 6 will get a 2.0GHz A8 processor, a separate NFC chip, an improved Touch ID fingerprint sensor, 802.11ac Wi-Fi radio and one special chip. This chip will reportedly be used for the recognition and authentication of Beats headsets. Well, at least this is what VentureBeat reporters claim.
