Pegatron and Foxconn to Start Production of Next-Gen iPhones and iPad Airs in Q2 or Q3





According to the latest rumors, the production of the next-gen iPhone and iPad Air will start in the second or in the third quarter of 2014. Pegatron will be responsible for assembly of both iPhones and iPads, while Foxconn will concentrate primarily on Apple’s smartphone. This is what several Chinese sources report (via iDownloadBlog).

Apple orders Foxconn 90 million units of the iPhone 6



According to information of the Commercial Times via DigiTimes, Foxconn is likely to receive an order from Apple for 90 million units of the iPhone 6.

Buoyed by shipments of iPhone 6, Apple's smartphone shipments are expected to rise 23% in 2014 compared to 13% growth posted a year earlier, the paper quoted Wei Chen, an analyst at Citigroup Global Markets, as saying. However, the growth rate of global smartphone shipments is expected to slow to 28% in 2014 compared to 40% in 2013, while sales of smartphones in mature markets are likely to edge up only 4%, down from 5% a year ago, Chen added.

Apple Reveals How Touch ID and Secure Enclave Work



The company from Cupertino revealed how its Touch ID fingerprint sensor and the so-called "Secure Enclave" work. Both systems (which work as a one whole) were first introduced with the iPhone 5s release and both ensure the security of the information stored in your device’s memory.

Winterboard Has been Updated Recently



Winterboard has been recently updated to work properly on all 64-bit Apple devices running iOS 7 such as iPhone 5s, iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display. What that means is there should be no bugs now, so all those people who like to customize and change the default Apple themes and wallpapers can at last sigh with relief. Well, at least we hope for that.

Apple to Begin Producing More Advanced Processors in 2015

Or, it is better to say, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and Samsung will switch to new 14- and 16-nanometer fabrication processes. LG to Supply OLED Displays for iWatch

USA Today Claims that iOS 7 is Apple's "Most Troubled" Operating System



USA Today claimed on Thursday that iOS 7 is the "most troubled" if to compare it with older versions of the Apple’s mobile operating system. However, the journalists were unable to provide at least one expert's conclusion or independent testing result, so looks like such an article was aimed only to draw some attention from the newspaper readers, that’s all.

Leaked Photos Show iPhone 5S Packaging



Photos that allegedly show a new iPhone 5S packaging have been released by a Chinese site called C Technology. Whether these photos are legitimate or not is unclear; anyway, they show a standard white box that was used as a packaging for previous iPhone versions.
