Apple received patents on the design of the iPhone and iPad by Steve Jobs and jony Ive.





On Tuesday, a number of key patents associated with the design of the iPhone 4 have been owned by Apple that are partially credited with Steve Jobs, as well as the L-shaped connector MagSafe, and iPad with Smart Cover.

Steve Jobs, Apple co-founder, is one of those who enlisted in the United States Patent D671937, titled simply "Electronic Device". It includes the design of the iPhone 4 along with the original antenna that wa sfinally  improved and replaced in the iPhone 4S.

Apple is expanding its energy resources in the data center of North Carolina.



The Charlotte Observer reports that Apple is planning to double the size of its energy resources at its data center in Maiden, North Carolina to 10 megawatts.

"Fifty fuel cells adjacent to its $1 billion data center in Maiden are expected to be operating by January, Apple said in papers filed with the N.C. Utilities Commission. It will be fueled by “directed biogas” in which cleaned methane gas from a landfill is injected into a natural gas pipeline. [...]

iFixit Performed A Teardown Of The New 21,5-inch iMac



iFixit has already completed its teardown of the new 21,5-inch iMac that officially launched on Friday. The company described the teardown as an “exercise in disappointment,” saying that the new thinner design brings new hurdles for reparaibility. Notably, the iMac’s  LCD and glass are now glued to the frame, while accessing the CPU, hard drive and RAM now requires removing the logic board. iFixit said:

New iMacs Show 10-25% Performance Increase Over Previous Generation



Today Primate Labs reported about the Geekbench results for the new 21.5-inch iMac showing fairly strong increase in performance compared to the previous generation of computers. The report focuses on the 21,5'' iMacs, as the 27'' models will not be available for 2-3 more weeks. The new iMacs scored about 25% higher than its counterpart launched in 2011 and even outperformed the high-end 27-inch iMac from 2011 by about 10%.

Apple has just released a revamped iTunes 11 application for Macs. The new app features a redesigned interface that is simpler and cleaner compared to the previous version. iTunes 11 could be launched on Thursday



The Wall Street Journal published a profile of Eddy Сue, Apple's Senior Vice President of Internet Services and Internet Software which contains information about the release date of iTunes 11.

The newest version of iTunes, as expected, will be released in late October. However, the release of the software was delayed till late November. The Wall Street Journal believes that the programm will be released on Thursday. The reason for the delay was reportedly some technical problems.

Samsung Working to Keep Design Dispute Separate from Component Contracts

Several Samsung senior executives were reportedly holding an emergency meeting yesterday to discuss Samsung's next moves in the case. Samsung CEO Kwon Oh-hyun not present at that meeting trying to save the company’s component supply contracts with Apple. Shipments Of iPad mini And New iMac Will Be Constrained Until 2013



According to DigiTimes, shipments of the iMac and iPad mini are expected to be limited in 2012 due to display production issues.

Reportedly, the panels for the iPad mini have seen low yield rates. As a result, Apple may fall short of 10 million target and reach only 6 million mark for the shipments of the iPad mini in the fourth quarter.
