TSMC will produce A-Series Chips for Apple.
According to Wall Street Journal, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC) has agreed to supply Apple with A-series chips. Although the matter has been discussed since 2010, the deal was only signed this month, and TSMC starts producing some of the chips in 2014. By that time, the Taiwan company will improve the quality of the products so that they meet Apple’s requirements. The chips will become smaller and more energy efficient by using 20-nanometre technology.
When negotiating the deal, the American company offered either to invest in TSMC or to assign one factory as an exclusive Apple supplier. However, the Taiwan company did not accept either of the options to keep TSMC independent and adaptable.
Samsung used to be Apple’s main A-series chips supplier, but present ferocious competition between the companies is forcing the latter to diminish its dependence on the Korean company.

The surreal beauty of some Apple Maps glitches
Peder Norrby, founder of the Swedish computer graphics company Trapdoor, has created a Flickr collection of some artistic and spectacular effects created by automated attempts to map 2D imagery onto 3D topology models in Apple Maps.
Of course, Apple Maps are not alone in some of the more … interesting results. Google Maps also have similar effects caused by the same issue: automated integration of 2D and 3D data without human vetting.

P0sixninja plans to create OpenJailbreak
Hacker p0sixninja (Joshua Hill) tweeted that he plans to create OpenJailbreak, a new repository of open source jailbreak components on Twitter earlier today.
Ok, I hate redsn0w, I hate sn0wbreeze, and I hate 6.1.3. I'm ready to get this #openjailbreak off the ground
Elaborating further he told:
Essentially it’s going to be a repository of open source jailbreak components that I created over the years. So much of my code has been hacked up and incorporated into other projects, it’s becoming very fragmented. There’s no central repository to maintain all this code, to allow other developers to submit patches or help layout a roadmap for what new features and abilities will be added in the future.
