Apple to Open Manufacturing Facility in Mesa, Arizona





Apple will build a special sapphire manufacturing facility in Mesa, Arizona in order to produce components for its iPhones, iPads and possibly Macs and MacBooks. Such information was shared by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer on Monday.

iPad Air is Cheaper to Build than iPad 3



Apple’s new iPad Air is about 13% or $42 cheaper to build than the last-year iPad - the 16GB Wi-Fi-only model cost is $274. Although some components, namely, the 9.7-inch Retina display, are a bit more expensive than earlier, in general the device now costs less.

Apple's Awarded with Patent for User Tracking System



U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded Apple with a patent for a "System and method of determining location of wireless communication devices/persons for controlling/adjusting operation of devices based on the location". That means guys from Cupertino may soon start working on a kind of home automation technology that will help to control various devices using a person’s location.

Updates for OS X Mavericks are Just Around the Corner



Apple is expected to roll out the update for OS X Mavericks soon. This update will include some bug fixes for the Mail, iBooks, Safari, and the Remote Desktop Client apps. All of these minor updates are being tested by Apple’s employees.

iOS Engineering Vice President, Henri Lamiraux, Retired from Apple



Apple’s top iOS Engineering Vice President - Henri Lamiraux - retired from Apple a couple of weeks ago. This happened just after the iOS 7.0.3 release. According to Lamiraux’s words, he planned to leave the company a “little while ago”. As we can see, Apple’s former top iOS engineer successfully accomplished the task he'd set.

Most People Upgrade to iPad Air from iPad 2 - Survey



According to the poll conducted by analyst Brian White of Cantor Fitzgerald, 73% out of 106 early iPad Air buyers he interviewed at Apple Stores in New York City, were upgrading from older tablet models. Only 27% were new to Apple’s iPad.

John Legere, T-Mobile CEO, has recently confirmed that his company offers 200MB of free data for all those who purchase the iPad Air on T-Mobile network. He has also noted that such an offer is available for all customers with no restrictions or additional conditions attached.

iPad Air is Now Available via Online Apple Store in the USA



iPad Air is now available for all those who live in the USA. What’s interesting is that all the models can be picked up directly from the store, at least for now. Looks like the first batch of the devices won’t be sold out immediately, like in Hong-Kong yesterday, but its Apple, anything can happen.
