42% of Smartphone Users in the USA Own iPhone



According to a research firm NDP, more than 40% of all smartphone users in the USA own an iPhone. This is a significant improvement from Q4 2012 figure, which was 35%. Samsung’s Android devices become more and more popular, so the South Korean manufacturer comes on its usual second place. As to the other companies, namely, Motorola, LG, HTC and Blackberry, their share on the market continues to drop.

Tim Cook is “incredibly optimistic” about the deal with China Mobile. This is what he said on a small meeting ahead of iPhone 5s launch on the world’s largest carrier network. Apple did not violate Motorola’s push notifications patent. Well, at least this is what The U.S. Court of Appeals says. Such a decision upholds the International Trade Commission verdict - back in April, this organization also concluded that the company from Cupertino was not guilty.

Apple Accused of Violating Taiwanese Trade Laws



The company from Cupertino is accused of violating article 18 of the country’s Fair Trade Act. According to the latest rumors, Apple told local carriers what price they should set for iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. Taiwan’s Fair Trade Commission says Apple should pay a $670.000 fine for “interfering with mobile service providers and handset distributors’ pricing.”
