iOS 6.1.2 Addressing Exchange and Passcode Bugs to Arrive Next Week





German site iPhone-Ticker reports that next week Apple is preparing to release iOS 6.1.2 to address lock screen passcode issue and the Exchange bug found in iOS 6.1. The report notes that Apple will likely release the update before Wednesday.

Today US patent and trademark office published a new Apple’s patent application describing methods that would enable an iPhone to take and buffer several photos before the shutter release is pressed and then automatically choose the best one.

EA launches Origin client for Mac



Digital distribution platform Origin for Mac from EA was launched today; this was first noted by AppleInsider. The Origin for the Mac was originally announced in August, 2011 and began to undergo alpha testing in late January.

Apple Has Become The #1 Vendor Of Mobile Phones In U.S. For The First Time



According to a new research from Strategy Analytics, Apple outstripped Samsung for the first time ever to become the number one vendor of mobile phones in U.S. The report notes that Apple sold 17.7 million iPhones during the fourth quarter of 2012 compared to 16.8 million sold by Samsung and 4.7 million sold by LG holding the third place.

Jeremy Horwitz from iLounge provided a new report that details the fifth generation iPad, as well as the future model of the iPhone. Horwitz said the cover designed for fifth generation iPad will have many features that are present in the design of the iPad mini.

Digitimes changes the information about large and cheap versions of the iPhone



Digitimes reported that Apple was planning to launch a larger and cheaper iPhone in the second half of this year, seeking to strike a blow in the emerging markets, as well as to compete with the increasing size of the screen that is inherent to Android devices.

Apple Rumored To Release 4.8-Inch iPhone Math In June



According to China Times’ report translated by BrightWire, Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone 5S along with a larger phone called "iPhone Math".

The iPhone Math is highly unusual name that does not conform to Apple's traditional naming scheme, so it is unclear if it is a code name of the device or a potential mistranslation.

Sharp reduces the iPad display production, because of lower consumer demand



Reuters reports that Sharp, one of the major partners that produce displays for Apple`s mobile devices, has reduced the production of displays for iPad at one of its plants. Sources do not indicate the reasons for the dramatic reduction, but it seems to be a combination of decreasing consumer interest to the iPad mini and the natural seasonal downturn.

Facebook Messenger application now allows to make voice calls for the United States accounts



This month, Facebook updated the Messenger app for iOS with beta support for VoIP calls between Facebook accounts. This feature was originally limited to Canadian iOS accounts but now is being opened to all United States accounts, reports The Verge.
