"Beating Apple is #1 Priority" - Samsung





While Samsung claims it was Apple who started the severe rivalry a couple of years ago, it turns out it wasn't. Actually, quite on the contrary.

Top 10 Stories of the Week



The week has nearly come to an end, so it’s just the time to talk about the most interesting posts of the past seven days.

This week’s top stories deal with iPhone 6 and Apple vs Samsung trial. As you probably know, some sources claim that the next-gen iPhone with 4.7-inch screen will be released in the second half of 2014 and the device with 5.5-inch display will be delayed. It Took Apple Several Years to Design iPhone for 'Normal People'



As you probably know, earlier this week Apple appealed to court for the second time. The guys from Cupertino sued Samsung over a number of patents they say the company infringed on. Some of them deal with Apple’s iPhone and the “Slide to Unlock” feature.

iPhone Market Share in Japan Is Close to 70% - Apple VP Greg Joswiak



Greg Joswiak, Apple VP of iPad, iPhone and iPod Marketing, in a short interview to TV Tokyo revealed that iPhone market share in Japan is close to 70%. Apple Remains U.S. Top Smartphone Manufacturer



The company from Cupertino remains U.S. top smartphone manufacturer with Samsung and LG coming in the second and the third place respectively. Moreover, Apple’s market share continues to grow, comScore reports. However, Google’s Android is still the top smartphone platform as nearly 52% of devices on market have Android on board.

Tim Cook Is Nearly the Richest Tech Company CEO in the World



Apple CEO Tim Cook has become nearly the most successful CEO of the last year. The sum he earned over 2013 is nearly $74 million. Such achievement allowed him to occupy the second spot in the richest tech CEO’s rating. As to the first and the third positions, they’re occupied by Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook with nearly $4 billion and Meg Whitman of HP with $17.6 million respectively.

12 Million People Downloaded Office for iPad - Microsoft



Just a week after the official release, iWork's main rival - Office for iPad - managed to set a new App Store record. Microsoft on Thursday announced 12 million downloads of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. What a result, huh?

Apple to Acquire Japan's Renesas SP Drivers Soon - Rumor



The company from Cupertino may soon acquire Renesas SP Drivers, a unit of Japan's Renesas Electronics that manufactures chips for smartphone displays. Such chips are designed specifically for small or mid-size screens; they’re capable of detecting a display's performance, energy efficiency and a number of other parameters. Renesas SP is currently one of the Apple’s suppliers.

Apple Officially Releases Safari 7.0.3 to Users Worldwide



Apple has officially released Safari 7.0.3 to users worldwide. The release comes just about a week after the latest beta, which contained some minor enhancements. Apple says that the new version is recommended for all OS X Mavericks users as it “contains improvements to compatibility, stability, and security.”
