Fusion Drive is now available in 21.5 inch iMac





According to the information released on the MacRumors Forums and MacGeneration, Apple launches 21.5-inch iMac with integrated 1TB Fusion Drive. Fusion drive, designed for the iMac and Mac mini, combines SSD and traditional hard disk drives into one logical volume.

"With Fusion Drive in your iMac, disk-intensive tasks — from booting up to launching apps to importing photos — are faster and more efficient. That’s because frequently used items are kept at the ready on speedy flash storage, while infrequently accessed items go to the hard drive. The file transfers take place in the background, so you won’t even notice."

Fusion Drive with 1TB is optional, costing $250. Previously this option was offered only on the latest version of 21.5 inch iMac and Mac mini, as well as 27 inch iMacs.

Apple's fiscal Q1 2013 earnings conference call set for Jan. 23



Apple announced on Wednesday that it will reveal results for the first fiscal quarter of 2013 on January 23 at 2:00 p.m. Pacific/5:00 p.m. Eastern. In the fourth quarter of 2012, Apple saw a 25 percent boost in profits thanks to strong sales of 44 million iDevices, including 26.9 million iPhones, for the three month period. Revenue for fiscal 2012 reached over $156 billion on sales of more than 200 million iOS devices, 18 million Macs, and 35 million iPods.

Apple To Update MacBook Air And MacBook Pro In June 2013



DigiTimes reports that Apple has informed Taiwan-based suppliers that MacBook Air and MacBook Pro lines will see updates in June 2013. DigiTimes' sources also said that Apple will not make any major external design changes to MacBook Airs, but will use a "new processor platform" in the line.

Steve Jobs' "Venus" is no longer impounded



Last Friday, it was noted that the Jobs family's new yacht had been confiscated by the authorities of the Netherlands as a result of the dispute over design payment in favor of the famous French designer Philippe Starck. Stark asserted that he should have received the payment in the amount of 9 million euros for designing yacht, however the Jobs family reported that agreed rate was equal to 6% of the yacht valued in the 105 million euros. Stark said that his fee will be lower by about 3 million euro.

Users complain of the rapid consumption of the battery after upgrading to iOS 6.0.2



The recently released update of IOS 6.0.2 for the iPhone 5 and IPad mini, could solve some of the issues associated with Wi-Fi, but some users say that the software reduced battery life.

Steve Jobs's yacht is confiscated on the case of payment of 3.6 million dollars over design



DutchNews.nl notices in articles of the Dutch mass-media that Steve Jobs's yacht "Venus" started couple of months back, has been confiscated by the authorities because of dispute over a payment for the design executed by well-known French designer Philippe Starck.

Redesigned iOS App Switcher Will Soon Come To Cydia



Apple has given little attention to updating the app switcher in its iOS since its introduction in iOS 4, so interface designer @Sentry_NC has tried his hand at developing a new concept for fast app switching in iOS.

In October, he introduced a mockup of iOS app switcher on The Verge forum, which takes advantage of the elongated screen on the iPhone 5 and provides easy access to app management tools and settings.

Foxconn Source Says 46-55-inch Apple TV Sets Are Currently In Testing



According to the report from Taiwan’s Central News Agency, citing a source from Foxconn, the supplier is currently testing several designs for Apple’s HDTV sets, but it is "unlikely" that the product will be shipped in 2013.

Google Maps For iOS With New Features Now Available In App Store



The anticipated Google’s standalone Maps for iOS has gone live in the App Store. Now iOS 6 who are not satisfied with Apple’s Maps app can switch back to Google’s free map platform. The new app includes a number of features that were not available in built-in app on iOS 5 and earlier, notably turn-by-turn navigation and transit routing option.

Apple testing different television samples



In the recent days the flurry of Apple television rumors does not subside. Apple's CEO Tim Cook gave brief comments in the interview at Rock Center last week, The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple is really testing samples of future television production. A bit is added to the existing rumor, but there seems to be that a work is in progress and the subject remains topical.

Apple received patents on the design of the iPhone and iPad by Steve Jobs and jony Ive.



On Tuesday, a number of key patents associated with the design of the iPhone 4 have been owned by Apple that are partially credited with Steve Jobs, as well as the L-shaped connector MagSafe, and iPad with Smart Cover.

Steve Jobs, Apple co-founder, is one of those who enlisted in the United States Patent D671937, titled simply "Electronic Device". It includes the design of the iPhone 4 along with the original antenna that wa sfinally  improved and replaced in the iPhone 4S.

iFixit Performed A Teardown Of The New 21,5-inch iMac



iFixit has already completed its teardown of the new 21,5-inch iMac that officially launched on Friday. The company described the teardown as an “exercise in disappointment,” saying that the new thinner design brings new hurdles for reparaibility. Notably, the iMac’s  LCD and glass are now glued to the frame, while accessing the CPU, hard drive and RAM now requires removing the logic board. iFixit said:
