One more creative photo of possible iPhone Nano or iPhone Mini. Similar fashion to existing iPhone 4, with 3.5-inch screen extended to the left/right edges. This image looks like a "spy" shot, but we believe is just another creative mockup.

As you may remember, this week Bloomberg reported about the fact that Apple is working on a new iPhone with a 2.3" screen. Today this information was also confirmed by the Wall Street Journal.

"One of the people, who saw a prototype of the phone late last year, said the device is intended for sale alongside Apple's existing line. The new device would be about half the size of the iPhone 4, which is the current model. The new phone would be available to carriers at about half the price of the main iPhone repertoire. "

The latter allows to suggest that this summer we'll see iPhone 5 at usual price of $199/$299, discounted iPhone 4 at $99, and iPhone Nano at $49.

Engadget have posed a very interesting comparison table of the most interesting tablets that are known today. Have a look at specifications for HP TouchPad, Apple iPad, Motorola Xoom and BlackBerry PlayBook. Unfortunately there is no Apple iPad 2 in this table, becasue iPad 2 specs are all just rumors for now.

Reuters claims that its “eyewitness” saw yesterday at a press conference to mark the debut of News Corp's Daily online paper (еру first newspaper for the iPad) a working model of the next iPad with a front-facing camera at the top edge of the glass screen. Comically, Reuters tells that in a room full of tech journalists, somebody was apparently playing around on an iPad 2. Reuters says "a source with knowledge of the device" confirmed its existence and that the real iPad 2 will have the camera along with other features.

Yesterday firm Canalys has revealed the results of its financial research, where it is said that in the Q4 of 2010 Apple became the number third PC seller in the world if iPad and Mac sales are combined.

The company's computer sales showed 241% increase year over year, as 11.5 million units were shipped in the above-mentioned quarter. That appears to be enough to edge out Dell that shipped only 11.4 million units.

As reported Apple has hired Naval Security Expert David Rice as their new Director of Global Security.

With iPhones and iPads penetrating the enterprise in ever more impressive numbers, companies want to know they’re secure. Late last year Apple started working with Unisys to help it sell Apple products to corporations and government agencies, all of which are concerned about the security implications of iPhones and iPads running on their networks. Those who know Rice describe him as a deeply respected name in IT security circles.

Yesterday Apple has issued new press release, which included a note from its CEO Steve Jobs. In this document he notified the company's employees that Tim Cook (who is Chief Operating Officer at Apple) will replace him for some time in Apple's day to day operations.

"At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health. I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company."

Four new job offers have been posted on Apple's site and reveal that company is looking for a software engineers to work on its navigation software.

All four job listings offer a full-time job in Santa Clara Valley, California. The description explains that Apple wants "outstanding engineers to deliver the next generation of Apple products".

Apple finally released iOS 4.2 for iPhone 3G/3GS/4, iPad, iPod Touch 2G/3G/4G and even Apple TV 2G. Lot's of new features, especially for iPad. Apple calls new firmware 4.2, however the version is actually 4.2.1. Here are the download links:

This week Barron's site published a forecast of Wedge Partners analyst Brian Blair, which reveals details on Apple’s suggested progress based on the study of the company's supply chain. He is assured the Cupertino's company will sell 100 million iPhones, which in turn means almost 100% year over year sales growth for the device in 2011. Besides that, the analyst also suggested the number of iPads sold will reach 45-48 million next year.

The Web is full of reports that the iPhone alarms (for all models of device) going off an hour later than usual when switched between Daylight Savings Time and Standard Time. Later, we reported that firstly this problem was found out in Australia, now Europe faces with the same. So even though the iOS clock changed correctly over the weekend, the alarm is still locked to Daylight Savings Time. Apple acknowledged the bug with a promise to fix it with a software update.

This Tuesday Microsoft released Office 2011 for Mac, which has a bunch of new features and Microsoft Outlook with totally redesigned interface.

General manager of the MS Office for Mac team Eric Wilfrid explained that many Mac users still want to use Microsoft office, though Microsoft and Apple are serious competitors in this field.
