Apple's Looking for New Suppliers
reports that according to KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo Apple’s currently looking for new suppliers. And there’re three main candidates, namely Taiwan's Compal Communications, Wistron and Inventec Appliances. The first company once worked for Nokia, Sony and Lenovo; the second one is a BlackBerry supplier and as to the third firm - it is currently working on Apple’s iPod.

This Friday and Saturday Best Buy is launching a trade-in program for iPads. You can get a 200$ or more gift card for bringing in your iPad 2 or 3. The gift cards can be used in offline or online stores.
Best Buy has already had experience with trade-in programs. It launched one for iPhones, and it was an instant success. However, Best Buy has not commented whether they will offer trade-ins in the future or not.

Disney honors Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs is getting the 2013 Disney Legends Award. It will take place on D13 Expo, a memorable three-day-long event. This Disney tradition goes back the year 1987, when Walt Disney Company established this Award.
Steve Jobs changed the world of consumer electronics as the founder of Apple, and was known throughout the world for his visionary attitude and penchant for innovation. He was an early investor and chief executive of Pixar, and became the Walt Disney Company’s largest shareholder overnight when it acquired Pixar Animation Studios in 2006. That same year, he joined the Disney board of directors, and remained a valuable sounding board and advisor to the company until his passing in 2011.
According to Bob Iger, Disney Chair and CEO, the Disney Legend Award is the highest honor for those, who “push the limits of innovation and creativity.”

Apple conspires to raise e-books price
On the 20th June US District Judge Denise Cote ruled that Apple conspired to raise the retail prices of e-books, says Reuters report. The publishers Macmillan and Penguin, names co-defendants, set the price of each book and gave the seller a 30% cut instead of using traditional wholesale models.
According to Eddy Cue, Apple's SVP of Internet Software and Services, the prices for iBookstore have grown due to inflation. The statement does not help Apple much, especially when Mr. Cue is considered the head of the conspiracy.
