Apple Was Granted Patent for 'Transparent Texting’ Tech





Last week Apple was granted another patent entitled ‘Transparent Texting’. According to a patent application published by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the company from Cupertino is planning to develop a system that will automatically change the background image of popular messaging apps and replace it with a live video feed from the device’s rear camera. Interesting idea, don’t you think so?

Recently Released Microsoft Office Apps Top App Store Charts



As you probably know, Microsoft on Thursday released its long-anticipated Office for iPad. The office suite consists of three apps, namely, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Just two days after the official release, these apps are now ranking as top three free apps on the App Store. What a successful debut, huh?

Apple Engineer Reveals How Original iPhone Was Created

How Apple Demolished Former HP Office Buildings - Video



An interesting video has been recently uploaded to YouTube. The clip shows excavators destroying former Hewlett-Packard headquarters buildings ahead of the construction of Apple’s new ‘Spaceship’ campus. The short video seems to be legitimate. You may take a look at it below.

Microsoft Will Release Office for iPad on March 27



According to the latest rumors, Microsoft will release its Office for iPad as soon as on March 27th. The company has been working on a new office suite for Apple’s tablet for a couple of months and looks like the time has come to show the results of this work.

As noted by The Verge, Office for iPad will get the interface similar to the iPhone version of the app. In order to be fully functional, the application will obviously require an Office 365 subscription.

Microsoft to Release New Office for iOS Any Day Now - Reuters



As you probably remember, I once wrote that Microsoft will release its Office for iOS in the first half of 2014. According to some trusted sources, the new Office for both iPhone and iPad is now ready and fully functional. Now it’s up to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella to decide whether to release the new product or not.

Flextronics assembles Macs in Texas



Bloomnerg reports that Apple has listed Flextronics International Ltd. in the Supplier Responsibility Report. The company has been an assembler of Mac computers since last year.

Flextronics assembled Macs in Austin, Texas, last year, Apple said in its annual supplier report published yesterday. Foxconn Technology Group remains the largest manufacturer of Apple products, with seven assembly locations in China and Brazil, according to the list published on Apple’s website.

Microsoft to Release Office for iPad Sooner than Expected - Rumor



As noted by Mary Jo Foley, Microsoft Office for iPad, codenamed 'Miramar', might be released ahead of the version for Windows, codenamed 'Gemini', though previously Steve Ballmer said he wanted the latter one to be launched first.

Apple Files Patent Application for Pressure-Sensitive Touch Screen



The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday published another Apple’s patent filing that describes a pressure-sensitive touch screen for iPhone or iPad. The company from Cupertino suggests to use several sensors to detect the level of pressure user applies to the display. Such sensors can be used as a secondary mode of input.

Apple to 'Teach' Siri to Search Your iPhone Photos



The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday published Apple’s new patent. The technology described in the document will allow users to tag their photos using Siri. Due to this new tags, Apple’s virtual assistant will be able to sort all of the images and search for them efficiently.

Apple Filed Two Patent Applications This Week



The company from Cupertino filed two new patent applications this week. According to iDownloadBlog, the first one deals with a new technology that could let the smartphone detect your cardiac signal. The second one describes a special display capable of detecting touches even when a user’s finger is not in contact with the screen surface.

Apple Patents Map Layers, Not Like Those Google Uses



The company from Cupertino has recently filed a patent for customizable map layers. You may say that various maps developers, like those working for Google, already use layered maps. Nevertheless, according to the patent application entitled “Interactive Map” published by United States Patent and Trademark Office on December 19th, Apple’s concept is a bit different from the existing ones.
