According to the release notes, the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system features only some minor stability enhancements. As to the new features, the developers haven't yet noticed any. Last year, during the official media event devoted to Apple's first-ever wearable gadget called the Apple Watch, Apple CEO Tim Cook and other company executives promised that the smartwatch will not only run its own special modification of iOS, but also will boast its own App Store with applications designed for this new device. Looks like they kept their word as the new repository began to work on Friday.

According to a new patent application published earlier today, Apple’s Force Touch technology may be improved in future to allow users’ fingers to “feel” different textures, for example, wood or metal. Looks like the guys from Cupertino plan to add a special hardware component capable of simulating the surface of a certain material using different vibrations and temperatures. Frankly speaking, currently I don’t understand the purpose of creating such a technology, however, Apple will surely find a good application for it.
According to the latest rumors, a firm called AU Optronics (AUO) will supply Apple with 4-inch, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display panels for the next generation of iPhones. Although both Apple and AU Optronics refused to comment on the issue, the rumor actually looks quite plausible as the guys from Cupertino need an additional supplier to avoid supply constraints.
According to the latest reports from reliable sources, Apple has recently added the support of about 30 new banks and financial institutions from the USA to its Apple Pay system. The growing number of large and small retailers, cafes, restaurants and financial institutions supporting the NFC-based mobile payments service indicates that Apple has created a truly convenient way to pay for goods and services.
Google on Monday announced that it will no longer support YouTube app on older Apple devices, namely, iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches with iOS 6 or any other earlier version of Apple’s mobile operating system on board. According to what can be seen at the U.S. Apple Online Store, the shipping estimates for all the 21.5-inch iMac models apart from the entry-level one, which is the cheapest, have recently slipped to 3-5 business days. This indicates that the guys from Cupertino do their best to catch up with the demand for this device. I wish they had the same situation with their Apple Watch, which is currently constrained.

This means that currently Apple has partners in at least three countries, namely, China, Vietnam and Brazil.

Although Samsung is not the first company that has a special department dedicated to supplying Apple with various components (LG also has one), such a step shows that not only Apple is dependent from its main market rival.
According to the latest report from The Wall Street Journal, Apple has recently purchased an Israeli camera technology called LinX Imaging. The sum of acquisition is equal to about $20 million, the reporters claim. Looks like the guys from Cupertino have decided to improve the cameras found in their iOS devices. Unlike most device manufacturers, Apple plans not to simply increase the number of megapixels, but to work on the quality of the lenses and photo sensors in general. LinX Imaging will surely help Apple to accomplish such an ambitious task as it has developed a number of technologies specifically for making the quality of images taken with a smartphone camera better.
According to the latest report from a research firm Slice Intelligence, Apple received nearly 1 million of pre-orders on April 10th in the USA. This is probably the main reason for shipping estimates for all smartwatch models to slip to June and even July.
