Verizon is likely to owe Apple $14 Billion



A recent marketing research discovered that Verizon may end up owing Apple 14 billion dollars for selling less iPhones than it committed to do in 2013.

According to Craig Moffett, a telecommunications analyst, in 2010 Verizon signed an agreement with Apple to sell iPhones worth 23.5 billion dollars during 2013 alone.  However, the figures of 2012 show that Verizon failed to fulfill the commitment by two times. This will undoubtedly influence the dividends, as the 12-1 billion means 4-5 dollars of each share.

Foxconn's Hiring Workers for the iPhone 6



According to China Business News, Foxconn’s currently hiring new workers for, presumably, a next generation iPhone. As the source claim, the recruitment firm, which works with Foxconn, has recently began a campaign aimed to find people capable of assembling the new Apple device.

The surreal beauty of some Apple Maps glitches



Peder Norrby, founder of the Swedish computer graphics company Trapdoor, has created a Flickr collection of some artistic and spectacular effects created by automated attempts to map 2D imagery onto 3D topology models in Apple Maps.

Of course, Apple Maps are not alone in some of the more … interesting results. Google Maps also have similar effects caused by the same issue: automated integration of 2D and 3D data without human vetting.

The Ashton Kutcher led JOBS biopic will debut on August 17th according to a press release.

Open Road Films will release JOBS – the highly anticipated film chronicling the story of Steve Jobs’ ascension from college dropout to one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of the 20th century – nationwide on August 16, 2013. JOBS details the major moments and defining characters that influenced Steve Jobs on a daily basis from 1971 through 2001. The film plunges into the depths of his character, creating an intense dialogue-driven story that is as much a sweeping epic as it is an immensely personal portrait of Steve Jobs’ life. Directed by Joshua Michael Stern, written by Matthew Whiteley, JOBS was shot by Oscar-winning cinematographer Russell Carpenter and produced by Mark Hulme.
