New Full-Screen Compose Window for Gmail in iPad
After the iPad launch in early April, Google created a formatted version of Gmail for iPad that uses its HTML5-based platform in order to create a 2-column format which is similar to the one used for Apple’s Mail on iPad. After the launch Google remarked that the process of testing interface design and features of iPad Gmail was still on, and today we have a new proof that the testing isn’t over yet.
The present 2-column interface of the Gmail for iPad is going to be supplemented with a new full-screen window that will appear over the Gmail window and will make it easier to write emails on iPad.

LUXA2 H4: Elegant Apple iPad Holder
Thermaltake Technology company has a devision called LUXA2, which has many interesting luxury products. The recent interesting one is LUXA2 H4 - the Apple iPad solid-aluminum holder.
The holder looks really nice and is well manufactured. The main material is aluminum. The design is great and reminds us different Apple products, especially the iMac stand. LUXA2 H4 holds the iPad with two short and two V-shaped arms, that have six rubber nubs. The nubs tightly grip the iPad without scratching it. The user is able to adjust the width of the stand by pulling these arms. That's why LUXA2 H4 fits not only for the iPad, but can hold Amazon Kindle and many other eBook readers and tablets. This gives the H4 additional advantage over other stands on the market.
The holder also allows 360-degree rotation and 300-degree vertical adjustment. So there is no problem putting iPad at the right angle. Setting the iPad in portrait or landscape orientation is really very easy. However be careful rotating the device, since there are no V-shaped arms on the top.
LUXA2 H4 is great for internet browsing, ebook reading, watching movies and even gaming. It looks especially good when used with iPad and external keyboard.
Specifications:
- Height: 206mm (8.12 inches)
- Width: 151mm (5.98 inches)
- Depth: 138mm (5.44 inches)
- Weight: 446g / 0.98 lbs.
- Adjustable Angle: 360° (Rotated) and 300°(Vertical)
LUXA2 H4 costs around $59.99. The list of distributors is available

512MB RAM update for iPhone 4
Since the first iPhone was launched, Apple has been making efforts to hide from the customers some of the actual technical specs of the device. The company has never advertised, let alone published the amount of RAM or the processor speed of the iPhone. Supposedly, the company doesn’t want to distract the customers with these technical details and just tries to focus on the actual functionality of the device.

New iPhone's Gyroscope Was Added for Gaming
When Gizmodo showed new iPhone's prototype most of us stopped expecting from Jobs anything shocking on WWDC 2010. But he amazed us, and not only with new display's resolution, FaceTime function and 802.11n support, but also with gyroscope. Many developers instantly realized - this is a new breakthrough.
While conventional accelerometer measures linear acceleration as a change of direction apart a change in velocity, a gyroscope measures angular acceleration, or in other words, a change in both direction and velocity at the same time. Thus the device can sense its rotation while ignoring hand jitters and linear movements, which is impossible for accelerometer.

AT&T servers had been hacked
A group of hackers found a security flaw on the web servers of AT&T and after obtaining users’ 3G iPad SIM addresses (also known as ICC ID) from the web made an automated script attack to receive their email addresses.
According to Gawker report, now hacked users may "be vulnerable to spam marketing and malicious hacking". SIM addresses are easy enough to obtain, because many people have already posted their ICC ID numbers in photos published on Flickr for instance. But most of them have their e-mails published too, so it is likely that they have already received such spam.

iPad and Velcro - The Symbiosis Of Simplicity And Convenience
Jesse Rosten, who is a storyteller and filmmaker from Northern California, decided to demonstrate how the iPad can be used in any situation with a help of Velcro fasteners only. The latter can be used to mount the device in almost any place without purchasing dedicated stands.
The idea may look silly but people say the video is so inspiring that they would love to make something similar at home.
Simple iTunes Substitution Released in Cydia
For those who doesn't like iTunes for its restrictions and lockdown on music and files a new solution has been delivered to the BigBoss repository and it’s called PwnTunes.
PwnTunes allows copying files from iPhone or iPod touch to PC just after plugging the sync cable. There is no tethering for only one PC, so you can use your device anywhere you want. Other features include:
- Music files are normally named after the original filenames on the PC and without gibberish encoding.
- Deleting songs and any other type of files directly via USB (iDevice works as USB device)
- Loading cover.jpg/folder.jpg from same folder as cover
- Album name is taken from folder's name if no album ID3 tag found, artist name is taken from parent folder's name if no artist ID3 tag found
The app currently is currently compatible only with Windows (XP/Vista/7), but the developers promise the Mac support to be delivered soon. The price is €9.99. No additional software on PC is required, you just need to launch Cydia on your jailbroken iDevice and install PwnTunes from Data Storage Section. When installed, connect you iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad via USB and the app will ask you to buy License or download it if you have already purchased one.
