CNet has recently reported that soon Apple will unveil a new high-speed connection technology for its devices, which is based on Intel's Light Peak technology. The latter should appear in products during the first half of 2011, according to Intel. But though Apple's new technology will be based on Intel's Light Peak, it was reported that Apple will brand it under its own name.
Light Peak allows to transfer information with 10 Gbps, which is almost three times faster than USB 3.0 (3.2 Gbps) and more than 10 times faster than Firewire 800 (800 Mbps). In practice it will allow to copy a full-length Blu-Ray movie in approximately 30 seconds. Read the rest of this entry »
Last week Samsung has admitted that its sales of Galaxy Tab were actually "quite small".
Last year Samsung Galaxy Tab represented the first generation of Android tablets that are able to compete with iPad and are available on the market. IMPORTANT FOR UNLOCKERS
During this process you can update your baseband to the 06.15 version. If you are on 05.14 or 05.15 or higher you will need to do this to unlock. You do not need to do this for jailbreak only. Please read the following very carefully before deciding whether to do this.
Apple finally released iOS 4.2 for iPhone 3G/3GS/4, iPad, iPod Touch 2G/3G/4G and even Apple TV 2G. Lot's of new features, especially for iPad. Apple calls new firmware 4.2, however the version is actually 4.2.1. Here are the download links:
MobileTerminal is a terminal emulator application for the iPad and iPhone. The version of MobileTerminal that is available in Cydia doesn't work with iPad iOS 3.2.2, iOS 4.x and iOS 5.x. However there are beta versions that do work, but aren't on Cydia because they are still in beta stages. This tutorial will show you step-by-step how to install MobileTerminal on iPad (tutorial for iPhone is here). If you have old version of MobileTerminal installed - uninstall it in Cydia (Search - MobileTerminal - Remove).
The iPhone DevTeam has just released jailbreak utility PwnageTool 4.1 for Mac OS X.
PwnageTool allows you to restore to a custom IPSW file. The main advantage of PwnageTool is for unlockers. It gives the ability to keep current baseband and preserve ultrasn0w unlock. This is only for those, who have not updated to iOS 4.1 by themseleves.
You can also add whatever packages you want in the “Expert” mode of PwnageTool, if you wish to pre-install something from Cydia.
MuscleNerd from DevTeam has posted a video preview of the new PwnageTool upcoming release. The new PwnageTool will use Geohot's Limera1n exploit and will let users who need unlock to obtain it. Here's MuscleNerd message from twitter:
