iPhone 8 Won’t Get Curved Screen – Analyst



According to the latest report from IHS Markit analyst Wayne Lam, the next-generation premium iPhone will not get a curved OLED display. Instead, the expert believes Apple will adopt a flat panel similar to the 2.5D glass the company is currently using in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The report is based on analysis of supply chain, so it’s actually quite trustworthy.

Check Out New iPhone 8 Renders



Benjamin Geskin has created a set of beautiful renders that depict how the next-generation iPhone might look like. The device shown below has an edge-to-edge display with thin bezels at the top and bottom, dual camera, and clean design. There’s no Home button, but there’s enough space for the function area that may replace it. A good thing about the images shared by Geskin is that they are based on recent rumors about the new iPhone called presumably the iPhone 8 or the iPhone Edition.

New iPhone to Be Called iPhone Edition – Rumors



According to the latest report from a Japanese website MacOtakara, the next-generation iPhone with an OLED screen and other major improvements may be called the iPhone Edition. The release of the model may take place much later than the release of the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus that will be only slightly updated. The reporters believe the phone to be a premium model and a perfect choice for the Apple Watch Edition.

All iPhones to Feature OLED Screens in 2019



According to the latest report from Korean supply chain insiders, Apple is planning to equip all iPhones with OLED displays by 2019.

In 2017, only one model, the iPhone 8, will get a new screen. In 2018, the company plans to use new technology on half of the phones. Finally, in 2019 Apple wants to switch from LCD displays to OLED panels completely.

Apple to Release OLED iPhone 8 and 2 LCD Models – Nikkei



According to the latest report from Nikkei Asian Review, Apple will indeed release a 5.8-inch OLED iPhone 8 later this year. Along with this model, the company will unveil the 4.7-inch iPhone 7s and 5.5-inch iPhone 7s Plus with LCD screens. Releasing two larger models, Apple plans to increase the average selling price to $700 and lure new customers in Asia and other regions.

iPhone 8 to Get New Fingerprint Scanner, Production to Start in September



According to the latest report from Digitimes, Apple will replace the Touch ID fingerprint scanner in the iPhone 8 with a new system developed internally. The fingerprint scanner embedded in the display of the OLED iPhone will be based on technologies developed by firms Apple has acquired over the last couple of years, namely, Authentec and Privaris. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company will produce new fingerprint scanners using the 65-nanometer process. The report cites reliable insiders.

Upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8+ Specs Leaked [Image]



A well-known insider Evan Blass has just revealed key specs of the upcoming iPhone 8 and iPhone 7s Plus rival, the Galaxy S8+. According to what can be found on his Twitter, the handset will get a 6.1-inch or 6.2-inch AMOLED display, 4GB or RAM, and an iris scanner. The origin of this specs sheet remains unknown, but Evan Blass is a reliable insider who is to be believed.
