iPad Mini Will Look Like A Larger iPod Touch
Today 9toMac that according to its sources the iPad mini will look like a larger iPod touch with skinner bezels on the sides paired with thicker bezels at the bottom and top of the device.
iWork, iPhoto, iMovie & Aperture receive updates for Apple's Mountain Lion
With the yesterday’s Mountain Lion launch, Apple updated its iWork productivity suite, as well as iPhoto, iMovie and Aperture. Updates for Pages, Numbers, and Keynote include support of the high-resolution Retina display on the next-generation MacBook Pro.
New features in Pages 4.2, Numbers 2.2, and Keynote 5.2 according to Apple, are:
Apple released iOS 6.0 Beta 2 for developers
Apple recently released new iOS 6 beta 2 for developers. It is available as an OTA update or as a download here. Apple also updated Xcode 4.5 developer preview 2, Apple TV beta 2 as well.

Google Introduces New 3D Features For Google Earth
In a today’s press conference, Google introduced “the next dimensions” of its Google Maps. The presentation included a lot of history of the Google Maps, Earth and Street View and a peek at what is expected. The announcements are particularly important given the rumors that Apple is going to replace Google Maps with its own maps application in iOS.

Geohot Arrested for Marijuana Possession En Route to SXSW
Famous hacker George Hotz (aka Geohot) was arrested and charged with felony marijuana possession while en route to SXSW conference.
Hotz was on his way to give a talk at SXSW, when he had to pass through a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca. According to a source familiar with the case, Department of Homeland Security officers brought drug dogs to each car. When the dogs barked, Hotz (and his passengers) were pulled over for more searching.
Apple Is Sued Over Misleading Siri Advertising
the Wall Street Journal, Apple was sued by an iPhone 4S customer who alleges that the company promoted its personal assistant service Siri using "misleading and deceptive" advertisements. The plaintiff Frank Fazio claims that depictions of Siri in Apple’s ads suggest the service is easy to use, which he says is not present in real-world use.

In U.S. Proview Sues Apple Over Alleged Deception In Purchase Of iPad Trademarks
Reuters, the legal dispute over the iPad trademark has taken an interesting twist, with Proview filing a lawsuit against Apple in the U.S. over deception associated with the deal between Apple and Proview.
Apple established a dummy corporation under the name IP Application Development Ltd (IPAD) in order to enter into negotiations over the trademark with Proview in 2009. In its lawsuit, Proview alleges that Apple's efforts to conceal its identity amounted to fraud.
New iTunes U Help Resources Are Now Available On Apple’s Web Site
On its web site Apple has created a new section dedicated to the service that was updated during its education-related media event. The new contain plenty of information for educators about how to use new digital features available in iTunes U.
Specifically, resources include training courses on iTunes U Course Manager and iTunes U Public Site Manager, as well as different guides on how to publish on iTunes U. Students and educators can also learn about using various types of educational content such as video clips, interactive presentations, audio recordings and more.

Target confirms it will open 25 Apple store-within-a-store outlets this year
Last week AppleInsider exclusively reported that Apple would plan to open 25 specialty stores inside Target's largest stores this year. The retailer confirmed those exact details in a presentation in New York on Thursday, according to The New York Times.
The concept is called "The Shops at Target," and the dedicated Apple ministores coming to 25 Target locations will not be alone. The Minneapolis-based retailer has also partnered with Boston's Polka Dog Bakery and Miami's The Webster, among others, for its specialty shops.
OnLive Introduces Streaming Windows 7 Desktop App For iPad
, video game streaming company, has introduced a virtual, streaming Microsoft Windows 7 Desktop app for iPad. The Desktop app, at CES, will finally be available on other platforms including Apple’s Mac. The full-functional versions of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint will be available to users soon after CloudOn released its Office solution for iPad.
Apple's iOS finishes 2011 with 52% share of mobile Web browsing
The latest figures from Net Applications show that Apple closed out 2011 with a commanding 52.1 percent share of mobile devices tracked browsing the Web. In second place was Java ME with 21.3 percent, while Google's Android came in third with just 16.2 percent.
Apple's share slid from 54 percent in November of 2011, and is down from its high of 61.5 percent in October. But it's also up from the 46.6 percent share iOS was tracked at in February of 2011. Coming in fourth in the data was Nokia's Symbian platform, with 5.8 percent, while Research in Motion's BlackBerry holds 3.5 percent. Interestingly, while sales of new BlackBerry devices have been weak, December of 2011 proved to be the best month of the year for RIM.
If dividing Apple’s devices shares in mobile web-browsing, the iPhone took 25.2 percent and leads all mobile devices. The iPad, though, was the second most popular device, with a 24.5 percent representation.
In the PC market Apple’s Macs platform finished with 6.4 percent in December of 2011 comparing with the 92.2 percent share Microsoft held with Windows. Windows XP, despite being 10 years old, is still leading the market with 46.5 percent. Windows 7 is in second with 37 percent, while Windows Vista holds 8.44 percent. As for Apple's Mac OS X, Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard platform remains its most popular at 3 percent, Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, released in July, closed out 2011 with a 2 percent share in December.
