Samsung Profits Continue to Fall Steadily



While Apple’s profits continue to grow, its main market rival keeps losing its share, customers and money. According to the most recent earnings report published by Samsung earlier this week, the company saw a 36% decrease in profits in Q4 of 2014 in comparison with the year-ago result. Moreover, Samsung’s mobile division saw even greater decline - 64%. The net profit in the latest quarter accounted for 5.29 trillion won (about $4.84 billion).

Apple Announces Its Financial Results in Fiscal Q1 of 2015



Just like it was expected, Apple on Tuesday, January 27th, officially announced its financial results in the first quarter of fiscal 2015. According to the official data shared by the guys from Cupertino, the revenue for the holiday quarter amounted to $74.6 billion and the net profit - to $18 billion. Apart from that, Apple sold 74.5 million iPhone units, up from 51 million in the year-ago quarter. As to the iPad sales, they were down from 26 million units sold in the Q1 of fiscal 2014 and accounted for 21.4 million units.

Apple to Allow Chinese Officials to Perform Security Audits of Its Gadgets



According to the latest report from a news agency Beijing News, Apple has agreed to allow China's government officials to perform security audits on those company's gadgets that are sold in the country. The officials have fear that the iPhones, iPads and other devices are used for surveillance by the governments of other countries and want to protect the Chinese customers.

Apple to Announce Financial Results in Fiscal Q1 2015 on January 27th



According to the data that can be found on Apple’s official Investor Page, the guys from Cupertino will officially announce their financial results in the first fiscal quarter of 2015 on Tuesday, January 27th. The conference devoted to the earnings in the first quarter is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM Pacific / 5:00 PM Eastern time. The report on sales and financial results will be published on Apple’s official website immediately after the conference call.

Net Cost of iPad Air 2 Components Is $275 - IHS Experts



A research firm called IHC has recently torn down Apple's new iPad Air 2 to find out how much money the guys from Cupertino spend on the hardware for their flagship tablet. As usual, the net cost of components is much lower than the actual price of the device, however, we should not forget that this cost does not include the price of assembly, transportation costs etc. Anyway, the experts claim that Apple spends about $275 on the 16GB version of the iPad Air 2, which is one dollar more than the net price of the last-year iPad Air. Keep in mind that this is the basic model; all the other are more expensive to assemble.

Apple Spends $200 on iPhone 6 and $216 on iPhone 6 Plus Production & Assembly



According to the results of the teardown analysis performed by IHS, Apple spends only about $200 to $247 on components and the assembly of one iPhone 6 unit and $216 to $263 to produce one iPhone 6 Plus unit. This number doesn’t include costs on development of the products, advertising etc. Nevertheless, the difference between the net cost of the gadgets and their retail price is huge. In case you don’t know, the 4.7-inch handset is sold for $649 to $849 and the 5.5-inch smartphone - for $749 to $949.

Apple's Financial Results in Q3 of Fiscal 2014



Apple has recently announced its financial results of the third quarter of fiscal 2014, which ended on June 28th. According to the figures shared by the guys from Cupertino, the company’s revenue over the last months is $37.4 billion. As to the net profit, it is $7.7 billion. These results prove that the third quarter of 2014 has become more successful than the year-ago quarter. Well, I don’t think this is something that surprises you.

Apple Signs Deal with Major Saudi Arabian Retailer



Apple has reportedly signed a deal with one of the major Arabian retailers called Jarir Bookstore. This deal will allow the guys from Cupertino to sell their products and offer additional services to local customers more efficiently than before. Moreover, Apple’s gadgets will become cheaper since the retailer won’t have to pay third-party distributors.

Samsung's Ready to Pay Apple $38.4 Million in Damages



As I already told you, Samsung thinks Apple has exaggerated the worth of its patents. In the ongoing trial on Monday, Samsung's damage expert Judith Chevalier said the South Korean manufacturer should pay only $38.4 million for the five allegedly infringed patents, not $2.19 billion Apple is seeking.
